Because of Guardian Angel is still stupid strong.
Mobility is power.
That has always been the truth of this game. And that is why I keep advocating that GA gets nerfed. No one…not one single hero should be able to move 50 meters every 2 seconds. That’s too much mobility. Plus she can fly and her sustain never has a pause or break in tempo.

The answer is pretty obvious.
People play Mercy because they love playing Mercy. She is, after all, historically one of the most popular heroes in the game.
There are players who onetrick Symmetra, even when she’s considered one of the worst heroes in the game. Does that mean Symmetra is actually good?
Players still onetrick Hanzo, even though he’s one of the worst heroes in the game.
Rein was trash, yet player were still playing him.
A hero having a lot of play-time is not necessarily an indication of power. All the heroes mentioned above are the worst heroes in the game, and players are still playing them in spite of this.
I don’t understand why players complain about Mercy when she individually does not directly interact with you most of the time. Did you get destroyed by a Pharah+Mercy? A Hanzo+Mercy? You got Glocked? There are much stronger synergies in this game. Mercy is not an issue, and is in fact incredibly weak.
They also get ban immunity, whether they ruined your game or not. Mercy players are often privileged paid players.

The devs said that but they didn’t actually share what stats they used or how they derived their conclusion from said stats.
The trouble is that Mercy’s “niche,” if you can call it that, is enabling good DPS, while a good main support provides the majority of the team’s healing and utility. And if a hero’s “niche” is having good teammates, of course their winrate is going to skew high. That doesn’t mean she’s a good hero, it means that a substantial portion of the player base has given up trying to play her unless they know they’ll get carried.
So I’m curious what methods Blizzard is using to correct Mercy’s skewed winrate to identify her personal impact. If it’s the same methods they’ve been using to say that Symmetra and Torb are fine, well… I don’t believe them.
Because we all got tired of getting yelled at for the last 2 seasons. Now the mercys are back, and its everyone elses problem to deal with
To be fair, these days so many people are meta slaves and refuse to play their favorite heroes as long as it gives them a competitive advantage.
I am not necessarily knocking it, at least not too hard. It is pretty obvious that I prefer to play the heroes I love and I also wish more people had the same attitude. Full disclosure.
But that does not matter to everyone. Sometimes just performing better in the game is more important. The problem is that they project that onto others.
Sorry, pal… You play Reinhardt when he is meta. I play Reinhardt against all of the odds. We are not the same.
Well that is because she isnt terrible. She has top 1-3 pickrate through most ranks and a damn high winrate also. Mercy players are feasting right now. (Not sure why)
A mercy feasts if she has a smart team.
The support is better off going full dps moira if the team consists of lemmings.
A Mercy feasts if the team is too busy flaming their tank instead of punishing her for attempting to resurrect. ASK ME HOW I KNOW!
If the dps flame or such, the tank gets perma pocket and all the rezzes.
I feel it is in part Lucio losing steam due to mutliple nerfs to him and the tank knock back passive being strengthened. When Lucio is meta Mercy sees less use.
She’s not the worst she’s ever been but she does suck right now. It’s been said a billion times but mercy has lots of fans that will run her even if she is/feels doodoo garbage. 44hps is insanely bad for a support who’s locked out of her damage/team utility while healing.
That is why I love Mercy players. They are not fake. They know what they want. They know what they are about. Ain’t nobody can tell them otherwise!
I just struggle to get use out of mercy even without a lucio on the map.
I know how to position to not get booped out of a rez, the issue right now is that mercy’s only really useful while ulting or rezzing. She’d need a permanent 48 hps through the dps passive and her normal 55 on valk to be of any use in these circumstances.
IMO Mercy is only as bad as her team is, in most cases. Sometimes the healing output just isn’t enough and her other benefits don’t make up for it. Depends on the comp. And the skill of the team.
Her winrates and pickrates being top 3 is mainly due to her being the better option to Lucio/Brig. Almost consistently when Lucio is meta neither of Mercy/Brig are when Brig is Meta neither Lucio/Mercy is and when Mercy is neither Lucio/Brig is. It really comes down to which one is least bad will be the meta. (Even if all 3 are bad). Which is why in gm atleast Mercy falls off a little as Brig is being played there. (only gms know how to play brig/with)
Mercy’s the best healer in the game, shes definitely not terrible!
