Why is this a thing? If you’re tired of playing support and tank don’t play comp because it’s nessesary to win. And for those who don’t care, don’t play a competitive game mode and ruin my experience because you don’t feel like playing support or tank. Some Players are just blatantly bad at DPS and still instalock it knowing they will be hurting the team, just because " I had to play Healer the last 3 games".
I’m so sick of this rank I swear platinum is a true hell. Nobody cares, there’s never any good team comp, no one understands the concept of grouping up, and a reaper can go uncontested an entire game. I don’t understand why I get punished for thinking at a higher rank than what’s shown on my profile.

You’re right I am. But since you wanna talk. Competitive; the definition of that is doing whatever it takes to win. If you aren’t willing to do that then why are you here

Look at my profile. The past 3 seasons I’ve played more healer and tank than anything. What makes me so angry is to pick a tank and then see 4 DPS get picked. Now I’m not getting healed as a tank and I can’t do anything, so I lose.

I’m with Sandman on this one. Most players want to grab DPS. Last game I was in had 1 dps picked, I picked a second. Then had 2 more grab DPS, so I switched to a tank, the next player ALSO grabbed DPS, and the last one was a healer. Then one of the DPS bashed on me for my skin choice of the tank.

It happens, I go through the same, as many people do in OW who play support or tank.
You either play with whats been picked and work around it or you play what you like.
Nothing will make this game better, the devs seem to be over any sort of balance for this game.
Comp is a S**T fight and really, whatever sr your in, there are no incentives to even comp, apart from the pretty gold guns from the points. There isn’t even bragging rights as the game is that broken you might as well play marbles.

Mate, you don’t need a degree to understand how comp should be played. Things like the one he’s describing happen all the time,but you’re leaving a sassy comment to be edgy etc. The point is thatthat he’s never able to play dps because already 4 of his teammates instalocked. No need to be a god of comp to understand that

LFG has never worked for me, even if you can force players in your group to have a mic you can’t be sure that they know how to play the role they’re locking into. What makes things even worse is that you run into organized 6 stacks that roll you
Its a game, if 4 others take dps, then go dps, IT WORKS at times. The choice is yours.
This 2/2/2 etc meta crap is what is making the game unfun and toxic.
Play the game for what it is. A basic FPS at its best.

That’s just it though, it’s not a basic FPS. I’m not at a low enough rank to play it like it’s call of duty. It still takes an ounce of team coordination to win. Doesn’t have to be 2 2 2 every game but the characters should at least have some sort of synergy. Like why would we ever need a hanzo McCree Soldier and a Widow on one team

OP, I feel for you, but all the selfish dps players on these forums will make excuses as to why they’re selfish, useless, and bad teammates. That’s just how it is. They’re throwers at heart who never learn to flex. Just accept that most of them would rather lose than swap off that 5th dps. Accept that game as unwinnable and play whatever dps you want. Don’t try to carry them with support or a tank. Make them either flex or lose, because theyre 100% throwing by willingly picking 5 dps, and when they do that, you should report them for game sabotage. If everyone started reporting dps players that force bad comps without even trying to work with their team, then they’ll be banned and comp will be less toxic. Their lame excuses about paying money and being able to play whatever they want won’t hold up with customer service to reverse their ban.
Edit: Though you should discuss this with your team, and if you start instalocking dps too, you’re no better than them. Someone has to sacrifice, but if you’ve done it a ton of other games, let the team know it’s their turn to sacrifice for once.
Edit2: Also, I’ve won games with 5 dps by playing Lucio. I’d end the game with 5 golds, and they’d know who carried them. It’s doable.

That’s false reporting. False reporting is a bannable offense.
If they instalock 5 dps and nobody will switch, you’re almost certain to lose anyway. There’s no getting around it, so better to have fun than to play something you hate, be frustrated all game, and lose anyway.
It’s also not false reporting. 5 dps instalock is throwing. Not working with your team and refusing to switch to tge detriment of that team is throwing. When that top500 Torb main was reported enough to get banned, he appealed it. The blizzard response was posted on Reddit. They said he was refusing to work with his team and was throwing. The banned remained. Prescident already set.
Not doing what your team says has never been a reportable offense.
Not-switching is not gameplay sabotage because the description literally says so.
The torb you’re thinking of has been shown on stream to literally AFK in spawn. That’s why he was punished and he admitted so as well. There are other torbs who have been whitelisted from reports because people like you abuse the report system.

People like me? I barely ever report, so hold your assumptions just a bit. I am however saying that 5 instalock dps teams are a near certain loss, so the flex player who unselfishly tries to fill for their team should stop wasting their time with a comp like that. They should play what they want at that point, because there’s nothing they can do.
As for the 5th dps pick, they’re soft throwing 100%. By allowing that kind of thing, it’s a legitimate way of letting all throwers give excuses as to why they lost every game, and it’s an easy out that promotes abuse. They are liable to be reported to allow blizzard to decide if they’re really throwing or not. If they arent, then they won’t amass near enough reports to be banned anyway, but if they are, they’ll eventually be caught.
False reporting is when a player is reported for one tricking or playing an off meta hero. Legitimate reporting is a player sabotaging the team, which a 5th dps pick is basically doing. Good thing you don’t decide the rules and blizzard can interpret them, or all throwers like you would never be caught ruining games for legitimate players.
