Doomfist also has a melee stun, that’s also on a much lower cooldown and does much more damage. If Brigitte can’t use hers through shields, neither should Doomfist.
Did the Devs ever confirm what the Doomfist changes were gonna be yet?
No neither of them need the nerf… so not both of them. Doomfist is already in line for his nerfs.
I think the key difference is that Doomfist is supposed to be played like that, whereas with Brigitte it’s more of an unintended consequence.
Actually they’re both melee attacks which makes it an inconsistency at best.
If you are looking for consistent rules or physics, this isn’t the game for you. I mean, Doomfist can punch down from the sky in places with solid ceilings…

Melee attacks by design go through barriers. Shield Bash was one of them.
Melee attacks also don’t stun. So it shouldn’t stun, then.
Guess Doomfist RMB shouldn’t stun either.
- Doomfist has to risk his life
- He gives a warning
- He can’t protect himself
- You know when he’s gonna rocket punch
- You can hear and see him. If you get hit or killed by rocket punch then it’s your fault.

(Just to be clear, I’m being sarcastic. My point was that the game is already very inconsistent and prioritizes fun and balance over consistency, which is how it should be.)
How is it a Rein’s fault that he gets hit by a rocket punch while shielding his team? He can’t move very quickly, and dropping his shield is risky for him and the rest of his team. And it’s not that hard to figure out that if a Brig is approaching you while you have your shield up, she’s going to try to stun you.
when i headshot someone with widow i do 300 damage but i only do 38 damage when i do the same with soldier

I also don’t totally agree with 5. Sure you can see him (sometimes) and hear him but that doesn’t mean you can do anything about it. Lets say you’re on Eichenwalde attack and you just leave the spawn door and start to turn the corner to arrive at the choke. You suddenly hear a Doomfist charging his punch but he started charging it at the top of the high ground bridge and lets it go right as you turn the corner. Unless you are a mobility hero you cannot do much about this because his charge gets completed right as he hit the ground when you had no idea where exactly he was. There are many different areas that punch could be charged from in that area.
I guess 3 too because hitting abilities gives him shields that quite literally help him protect himself.
Not really, in regards to these types of matters. Attacks of the same type generally work more or less the same. That’s the whole reason they changed shield bash to interact with rocket punch and rein’s charge the same way they interact with each other. They changed it to be more consistent there, so it should be consistent here, too.
Another reason Doomfist shouldn’t be able to rocket punch through shields. It’s neither fun nor balanced.
Doomfist can just tap M2 if all he wants is stun. He doesn’t have to charge it.
Also, the “risks his life” argument is debatable. Every one of his abilities gives him shields and two of them are an escape.
Oh ok. So if Reinhardt is getting rocket punched so many times and no one on his team ain’t doing anything to stop him, then that’s the team’s fault. I mean look dude if Doomfist is doing that, he’s literally asking for Reinhardt’s team to kill him.
Do you guys frequently encounter Doomfist players who actually punch tanks first? That certainly isn’t a common strategy in my experience… and often fatal for the doomfist from what I’ve seen.
If that’s the case, then what are you losing by making it fair and consistent?
Well if you can’t see a Brigitte coming at you walking with her flail and shield to your face then you must be blind too and your fault too. Except it isn’t.
Knowing somethingbis coming and being able to do anything about it are two totally different things.
