If Brigitte is the new hero

It’s pronounced “Bri-ZHEET” not “Bri-GET” or “Bri-JET”.

I only say this because, for some reason, hero names are still mispronounced.

It’s “Or-eesa” not “Or-ihsa”, she literally says it when someone switches to her, and in her origin story.

It’s “Lu-sio” not “Lu-shio”, same as Orisa, says it when he’s switched to.

This one pisses me off so much lmao. I don’t get how people keep saying “shio” when he LITERALLY SAYS HIS NAME SO MUCH >:(

I had friends - mind you, when we lived in Japan, that would say “nay-roo-doh” when it’s Naruto and EVERYONE says his name in it.

I will never understand.

This one bothers me too! Mei, Lucio, and Orisa have lines that say his name AND the whole cast said it during the Uprising event. >:l

But what about lu-shi-lo, thats what I always call him (intentionally wrong)

Actually, “Lúci-oh” - the way he speaks himself - is a bit silly to me. We’d never say it like that in Brazil xD

Still, the “shio” has gotta be the weirdest xD

Bri-Zheet will take getting used to, I thought it was just Bridgette :no_mouth:

Uhm… it’s actually “Horse”

Keep in mind that Reinhardt’s voice actor can’t speak German, so he also pronounces it incorrectly. These videos show how a German person would say it:

It’s more like “Bri git teh”

… Be wary of horse

True, it’s not how German’s would say it but there are other ways of pronouncing it. Kind of like how Ana can be said in two different ways.

This particular character uses the French/Dutch way, and maybe there’s a lore reason for why Reinhardt would choose that version. To me, it’s a prettier sounding way of saying it too!

Technically Orisa can be said in two different ways too. It really depends how you want to pronounce the ’ i ’ in her name and I suspect a lot of Americans lean towards it being pronounced the “wrong” way.
