I flex support and Moira is fun as hell. I get to enjoy without that many weaknesses besides not having that much range and healing meter but damn I get to dps and my ult shows up quickly.
Of course I heal the team mostly over dps

For me it varies by the game but I tend to outheal my damage by 2:1 roughly. But there are always exceptions.
Nothing wrong with Ana lolllll! She needs better survivability, Zen has his damage, Moira life steals and throws a ball, Brig Lucio self heal mercy just Regens, and Ana oh poor Ana not enough damage to protect herself and if you hit a sleep great here comes the other person to kill you anyways, she uses her nade to heal herself more often than antis or team heals.
I noticed everybody responded to that guy’s comment. But yeah I don’t see how that guy doesn’t see how Ana doesn’t have any problems.
Just wanted to say, as a Moira main, I fully agree with your assessment, and could’ve written the same you did in the last messages, be they about Ana or her.
I would love to be able to play Ana (I love the design, and the principle of gameplay) , but the truth of the matter is I don’t even understand why people pick her at this moment. After Brigitte, she has to be the support duo I get the most in Gold, of late.
Which is outright stupid, since other than the promise of a somewhat interesting gameplay, she has neither execution for it, nor anything else. I run into 1 outstanding Ana out of 50, the rest being mediocre to terribad healers. There seems to be no such thing as an average/good Ana: you either suck or rock. I wonder how they even get out of Silver.
And if you rock with Ana, why the hell aren’t you playing an actually good character?
In a lot of games I try and incite the Ana player to switch, because I’d rather they be playing a mediocre McCree/Widow, with me as solo healer, than as the usual bad Ana. Ana players, just go for Zen if you feel compelled to play support and want to kill from range!
Ana is just that much of a walking team affliction in my book.
Agreed, there’s a lot of problems with Ana and she is overshadowed by every other support. Mercy is just the most consistant healer and res can do wonders as(I think res needs to be changed where people are resurrected with half health instead of full).
I’ll say it here like I have in every other Ana thread.
I can deal with her lack of mobility because she’s a tricky B. But this is what she needs.
I understand her attack is a DOT, but we need to be able to fire as little more consistently at times.
I don’t have a problem with shields. If Winston dives me I have a sleep dart, which is not that hard to land on him. I have some counter play available. If teammates go behind the shield it’s their own fault and that’s fair game - especially if they don’t shoot the shield so I can heal them. What I can’t abide by is D.va matrix eating my healing darts. She will randomly guzzle up so much of my healing when it is most needed.
Just give ana barriers like zen has 100/100 or even 150/50 to deal with chip damage please. Maybe increase her casting speed for sleep dart and allows us to further adjust our scoped sensitivity.
These all sounds good but instead of the shields for part of her health I believe she should get a passive heal. In Heroes of the Storm they already addressed Ana’s problem in that game and fixed by giving her a passive heal.
Why is it so hard to give her a passive-heal in the game she originated in compare to a crossover she’s in.
Actually No. Every time I let go playing Ana it’s because keeping her alive in a game is problematic.
I can give a squat about Mercy. I consider myself an Ana main forced to play something else.
Dive counters Ana. The odds are severely stacked against her. We started out with four dive heroes — Winston, D.VA, Tracer and Genji. Every other hero they add to the game is dive. Since Ana’s creation they’ve added Sombra, Doomfist and Now Hammond. Each time they add a dive hero she gets harder to field.
Fix her survivability problem and you’ve essentially fixed Ana. She’ll at least be playable to most people who want to main her. Until then giving the illusion of viability by adding and subtracting traits to other heroes won’t work — unless you start removing a few dive heroes from the game.
Removing dive isn’t going to happen — ever. There will only be more dive heroes added into the game in the future. Her lack of mobility, self sustain, self defense and pinpoint accuracy requirements guarantee Ana as easy pickings to dive — especially when most dive heroes move faster than her, hit harder than her and have very lax to hit requirements compared to her.
The only thing you’ll get out of nerfing Mercy is an even weaker Mercy. Great! You’ll now have to deal with Moira and Lúcio for main heals; but it WONT bring back Ana.
Thank You!!! People don’t seem to understand this and it upsets me. The indirect nerfs keep piling up. But hey, some people truly believe Ana is fine or will be OP considering she will become more obsolete the more time goes on.
I legitimately feel really bad playing Ana right now, but I keep it going because I enjoy her quite a bit and was good with her in season 4(?)
But removing her overheal feels like a huge mistake.
As an Ana main its bothers me so much that I have to constantly switch. There be times like damn…I really can’t play this character. She’s so outdated its not even funny.
I just watch Ana struggle to survive for like 5 seconds in all that chaos that’s goes on in the match. Her not having any real self-sustain is killing the character.
People want to talk about really annoying characters as bad design.
Well Ana is a bad design for having too many problems and too many contradictions as a character.
