Why do PC players say things like “PC is much more difficult”?
This is stupid. Maybe PC is better/more comfortable as a platform to play this game. But this doesn’t mean it is “harder”.

Different skill set. Some find controller easier than m&kb. Others don’t.
Due to PC having snappier aim controls the matches move faster. Faster matches punish mistakes harder.
That’s how I rationalize it any way.
I’m sure it would effect some people but I think a majority of people would adjust.
My comp sucks but in the time I tried playing OW I did notice the speed increase but I too could react faster. It’s faster but every ones playing on an even playing field so it’s not exactly the same. (on PS4 anyway)
Controllers just aren’t ideal for FPS’s but they work way better for stuff like Monster Hunter, Darksiders etc.
Aiming with mice is quicker and more precise than what you can achieve with controllers… Hence aim assist on consoles is a thing.
Aiming and Movement on console are harder… but since console players only play against console players.
It doesn’t really matter. It’s chaotic neutral at best.
Because when the Aiming input is not limited by a controller, and EVERYONE can aim without limit, the levels of aim increases in variance. No one is capped at 5 or even 10. They are only capped by their own reaction time (and hardware and ping).
PC gaming is actually easier for the user(s), the competition level is much higher though.
PC is faster, console games play way slower. No aim assist on PC + very fast gameplay = “harder gameplay”.
I don’t actually think PC is that much harder, maybe a tiny bit, I don’t know how competitive console OW is compared to PC. I’m like <500 on console so for me PC is easier.
Because everyone on PC has an easier time aiming and abusing broken movement therefore everyone is playing at a higher skill level
To put it into perspective S1-3 I placed 50 SR (=2500 in S1) and easily climbed into high diamond/master before putting the game down
On PC Placed in high gold and haven’t climbed out since (though I play less than I used to)
They have to be more careful around snipers than we do, which makes snipers more oppressive and harder to play around. It’s the primary difference between the two platform types.
Aiming is more limited on console, which limits how good one person can get with just a controller.
Whereas with KBM, aiming is more precise and really only limited by human performance, which shoots the skill ceiling much higher. And with a higher skill ceiling, the more effort you need to put into climb as high as possible. More effort tends to equate to harder work.
Not to mention quicker reaction times and more consistent communication means there’s even more you need to improve on if you want to climb on PC, whereas on console doesnt really have to deal with either as much.
That’s why people say PC is harder. Console is rougher to pick up out of no where because of the wonky controls, sure, but the skill gap on PC is much bigger, so naturally its harder to climb on PC once you get the basics down.
Yes it is true you can consistently hear all this on PC better. ![]()
“Bastion you are Trash, did you hear me?? TRASH!@##”
“Get off Widow you are useless”
“OMG noob Ana”
“Trash team, GG”
“DPS do something”
“Rein hit W”
“Offensive Trob? I throw too”
I consider PC controls wonky, at least the keyboard part, the mouse is ok. Keyboards are ergonomically awful, and this is from someone who has spent 8+ hours a day in front of a computer for over 30 years.
Auto aim sucks on console. It’s hard jumping between on pc and console. On console I miss a lot of sniper shots when the enemy is close together cause auto aim will try to track someone passing behind who I’m aiming at
But this goes both ways. The PC player has to be more careful with the enemy sniper and all, but the PC player has more room to unleash their own potential with movement, fast reaction and aim.
Well, it does not really matter anymore. Crappy PC players are migrating to console OW with XIM adapters and are ruining games as DF and Widow. They can’t keep up with the average PC players so they have to go to console with M+KB to make themselves feel like they are good at something.
I don’t play PC because i have played console’s for a majority of my life. I didn’t have a home PC until i was 9 (early 2000’s). I used to play Counter Strike Source, and even got accused of hacking because i got so good with the Scout Sniper. But that was 15 years ago. PC players are insane. But Console players can be just as good. I am not one of those players lol.
Hmm, there is aim assist on console though so that should make up for the more finesse aim tweaking for most players.
I don’t think people can really spin around as fast on console due to the controller so the average player is going to see a slower reaction time as players are forced to wait until the turn completes to perform an action.
I’ve also notice that console typically gets away with flanking far easier than PC (I’ve not play console, this is just from viewing clips and such). It looks as though a lot of console players play with speaker sound so they lose directional sound and they have slower turn rates with the controller. This means that strategies that are unviable on PC are viable on console for a large portion of the playerbase.
In many ways they seem like they play fairly differently, IMO for the next OWL all-stars we should force the pro’s to play with xbox controllers and see what we get
If aiming is easier, you’re more likely to get shot, so you die faster. That makes it harder.
I see it more as: on PC there’s a larger possible skill gap, at least when it comes to aim. On consoles you’re limited by the speed at which you can move, while on PC it’s pretty much up to how quick you can move your mouse. Because of this and also because you can aim more precisely with a mouse than with a controller, games end up being faster paced on PC.
In that sense the skill ceiling is higher on PC, but that doesn’t really make it harder for the average Joe. ‘Harder’ is really just not a good word to use in this matter.
Yeah, basically this ^
We don’t gotta worry about crouch strafing because movement is slower
