Those heroes can win the game most of the time. Right? The player behind them also must be irrelevant in terms of gameplay. “No skill” heroes are usually “low risk high reward”. So let’s climb to GM with them
“But I don’t main them.” Maining a low skill hero doesn’t even take time. All you need is basic game-sense (e.g. timing, moving, etc.)
Tell me if I’m wrong, but if a hero requires no skill, climbing to GM with them shouldn’t be a problem
This is the correct answer. It’s why Samito wasn’t wrong in that Moira’s aim is forgiving (it is) , but he looked like a complete fool when he claimed that it meant anyone can climb with her after he got hardstuck at Master one-tricking her. He just wasn’t good enough at the hero to progress further.
Yet…This also makes the term “easy to play” completely meaningless as it doesn’t address how consistent/difficult heroes are to win with in a given situation.
It’s just a distraction from the actual point of balance.
Absolutely. Simply being easy to play shouldn’t ever be grounds for a nerf. However, if an ‘easy to play’ hero is dominating the meta, one of the simplest ways of nerfing said hero would be to raise the skill floor slightly. It’s not the only way, of course.
