Ideas for new DPS

Before you go ranting that, “we already have enough DPS characters”, you are right. But, since Ashe we have only had tanks and supports being added to try to balance. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard Added 2 supports, 2 tanks, and then a DPS as the hero rotation.

With that said, a long range caster would be cool, or something along those lines.

What are your ideas?

It’d help, that’s for sure. If it stayed consistent like that anyways, the most we got was Moira and Brig back to back then Hammond and then Ashe.

Hero releases don’t really seem to have a pattern at this point. :man_shrugging:

I just want Overwatch’s version of the Pyro from TF2.
and more DPS hybrids would be nice IMO as well.

A none dps hero, either support/tank till they can compete with the number (16 btw) of dps what we have now atm.
(Regardless if this is a ideas for new dps thread.)

I do want an infection hero like nidus from warframe, a infection hero that prevents healing. The hero can also be apart of talon.

Something based around DoT effects, would be nice.

Another “dive comp” orientated flanker would be cool too.

I would like to see a DPS with a Tommy gun. Or at least a futuristic one.
Maybe a shield breaker?

I would like to see zero new DPS, but if we must, I suppose a hero with a weapon that ignores shields would be interesting, like Winston’s gun or a melee weapon.

Sure, but they seem to be adding more Tank and Support heros rather than DPS to try to keep the same amount of heros for each role in the future.

You can’t just NOT release new DPS characters every now and again.

A DPS that is based on stealth, and deverision. Not so much like Sombra with her invsiiblity. The character could make holographic decoys of themselves, or other team members. Use the decoys to lead enemies into ambushes, or away from a specific area.

I’d still love for there to be a Xenomorph-like hero. Maybe a flanker, but for defense?

Free wall/ceiling climb (with changing camera angles), invisibility while not moving, and powerful (but telegraphed) melee attacks. Maybe warn enemy players that the hero is hiding somewhere nearby with a sound cue, but make the range just large enough that pinpointing their location is difficult.

I want a management dps, like what sym 2.0 was

I’m surprised we still don’t have a damage over time hero, maybe using fire, or poisons. Ana kinda has a bit on her gun, and ashe’s little tnt, but it’s not like their entire theme.

I know awhile back someone mentioned these types of damages as a hypothetical change for Hanzo. This was way back when scatterarrow was around.

I’ve always thought a hero that weilds a sword as their primary attack would be cool.

The hero has a Microphone and shoots out music notes that deal more damage the faster you can rap into your mic.

How dose one want pyro.

a hero with a hitscan laser blaster who can slow down enemies in time and space using a skill shot.
