Idea for God Ai Hero: Two-headed Tank/ Support (two players, one body)

Let’s There is a new tank/Support, A God Ai like Anubis. Well how do we make powerful as it is in the lore but make it balanced for everyone else. Answer: Two Headed Hero Requirement.

Basically requires two players to function but then this is one big hero…

Just idea thought I put it out there: for more on Single player Anubis: 👻 idea for ghostly possession Support Hero (Anubis)

Now I don’t know how a two headed hero would work but I think we can come up with ideas.

Edit: Going for what’s interesting. If Blizz can do it, love to see it.

I imagine both heads have different view points. Like One controls the hero viewpoint, and one is view from above or something like that.

It’s a god ai… we have no idea what it looks like yet. But Floating Robo heads could be an option. (That way we can have different skins on the same “body”.)

Of course Heroes of the storm would do it first.

This would be crazy cool if they could pull it off, but yeah HoTS did it with Cho’Gall and i think he’s really fun to play with a buddy. Seeing that transfer over to OW in a legitimate way would be neat!

Wonder if the game could handle it… I mean D. Va is technically two heroes already. If they could manage it, it would be a huge deal.

True that, Blizzard would be the ones that could do it I think. I doubt the community is ready for something like that hahaha

Community really shouldn’t matter at this point… just look at us… we are a mess already.

Keep it as being controlled by one player, but they can switch between the different kits (like Torb switching to his hammer or Mercy her blaster), but with a cooldown. So they could play for a bit as that AI tank, swap to the other kit and start healing and doing support related activities.

Maybe have that as an option if no one picks the other head? (though add a negative effect cause your one person in a big body thats meant for two.)

It’d be quite interesting to see partnered players main someone like that.

Oh Couples will either love this hero or not… But imagine if a Couple got the OWL… That would be amazing.

Cho’Gall was done quite well for HOTS, both in how he/they worked for picking and how he/they felt to play. I had one friend in particular who was solid at the game mechanics but would always struggle with positioning, so having him play as Gall (the “passenger”) allowed me to handle positioning for both of us, which was perfect.

I’m not sure how the selection would work in Overwatch, though, given that you can change characters at will. If one half requires the other, then I guess you’d have to get stuck on the selection screen until someone picks the other half or something? It’s hard to think of a way to handle that without a lot of awkwardness.

I mean, Heroes of the Storm has Cho’Gall which works the same as this (2 players control one character and you would have 5 heroes instead of 6 separate ones but you still have 6 people per team).

I feel like it would be hell to control ,communicate and operate effectively in a 3d game as fast paced as OW

This had me thinking about how existing heroes could be designed for dual control. I think the only one that would reasonably work would be Torbjorn: His turret as another player who can’t walk, but he could choose to carry it around in lieu of his own hammering/shooting.

Or Bastion and His Bird. Imagine being able to peck Mercy.

The little sidekicks (Mei+Snowball, Bastion+Ganymede, Hammond+WB) crossed my mind, but they arguably would have no reason to rely on their human/robot/hamster counterparts for anything, which would just make them new heroes on their own.

Experimental game Mode someday could even work with Two Tracers (paradox)

A dual controlled hero would never happen simply because it would mean a team having either 7 players or 6 players missing one hero as a teammate. Unless that hero was so OP that having 5 heroes was perfectly acceptable.
