So for the past 3-4 months I’ve noticed a increasingly huge amount of smurfs on console. I’m assuming this is probably all across the board as well on other platforms. But over the course of a couple months I have noticed on average(this average being Significantly higher and more likely to be a smurf than not),.
My Idea using what we already have built into the game endorsements. I’ve noticed more often than not smurfs are usually only endorsement 1 to 2. Think about it… they are usually a new account and I remember in the past 1-2 endorsements when joining a group leaders wouldn’t even play with them and kick them because it usually meant that they are a bad teammate, now you see a whole team of 1-2. Because they are new Accounts.
So if blizzard can separate endorsements 1-2 to only play with each other(via match maker)… I think it would significantly discourage them to make new accounts and try to smurf and ruin games for people who are in their actual skill level.
Or not be able to play in competitive until they reach endorsements 3… sure they can try to ask people to vote for them but if you make it a little harder to reach 3 to play competitive it will be a lot of work on there part to flood the game with alt smurf accounts, and will make the game a lot more pleasant for the community who are in the right SR for them.
well then I cant play competitive lol I 6 stack with friends a lot in qp so I rarely get endorsments and I’ve been stuck at level 1 for about half a year
On the contrary, the second part of your idea was also
If they only play qp with friends (who can’t endorse each other) then they will be forever locked out of comp so long as they continue to play with friends since people almost never endorse the other team.
Besides endorsements mean virtually nothing. There’s no qualifiers for actually earning them, after all you can give shot caller endorsements to people who never spoke or communicated in the match in any way. Not to mention there’s only incentives to give endorsements with exp, no penalty for giving them incorrectly. They fail in every meaningful way in terms of actually measuring how good of a teammate someone is. For every low endorsement player that causes issues in a match, there’s a high endorsement player who does the same, only to try to brag about their endorsement level to claim “it’s not my fault!” I’ve legitimately seen less low level endorsement players who were actual problems than ones who were some of the nicest and most enjoyable teammates I’ve ever played with.
I have a better offer. How about all hardstucks stop playing casually and fix their own prblem with smurfs by getting better w/o calling whambulance? THX! If you don’t go to GM, GM will come at you! Play better - fixed problem. Don’t want to improve - don’t complain, is that ez?
