Hey there, silent lurker here asking for a small QoL change for my dear friend Mei.
The current issue:
Primary fire is the Spray while Secondary fire is the Icicle shot.
I want to switch the mouse buttons without affecting Mei E ability (The Great Wall).
The way it affects the E ability is that… If you change Left to Right mouse buttons in settings, it also changes the E ability interaction.
In short: Left click becomes “Cancel Wall” and Right click becomes “Place Wall”.

I want to be able to shoot Icicles via Left click without having to press Right click to place my Wall.
I truly hope this post gains traction. It’s a nieche thing sure, but I don’t imagine it being hard to implement as a quality of life. It would help us Mei players sooo much.
Clicking Left mouse button to shoot is much easier to aim with then right click. Sure we can get used to it, but it’s still inferior
This is a Mercy issue for some people, too. Some want to switch keybindings for blue and yellow beams, but that makes it so that if you pull out your pistol, you have to right click to shoot.
It sounds like such a nieche thing, but this quality of life change for few characters would be quite massive.
In Mei case, when I switch Left with Right clicks, My aim increases as drastically as 24% on my Icycle shots in average.
But I keep on failing to place my wall (by canceling it on accident) so darn often it’s simply not worth attempting to trick my brain into the “correct” way.

I will try to push as far as I can this QoL request until it’s heard… It would be a game changer like for people on Sojourn swapping their Fire keys
They could also make more consistent default bindings. Most people want left click for precise shooting, right click for others. That doesn’t fix Mercy though
I understand the whole… “Primary and Secondary” modes of fire, but what happens when we as players want to switch them in places to accommodate our play style:
well… that is not entirely true… After about 2 years I trained myself to think that way. m1 cancels m2 builds, so it is not issue for me for 5 years now.
But I feel you my fellow Mei enjoyer. It should be a thing… 7 years ago.
I tried. Believe me… I got Proficient with Left and Right click. But for the hell of me, I keep on speed clicking E + Left to place a fast emergency wall… and it cancels… and I realize it canceled… and I’m dead
Well, I understand. The fact that I got over it does not mean it is easy for everyone. That is why I support this idea. Just pointing it should be done 7years ago already, but dev team does not give a flying duck about Mei
