I would love to know the player numbers

I don’t know why games these days are so afraid to reveal player counts. Who does it hurt? Helps the player figure why the queue is taking awhile and to switch to another mode with more players.

A higher player count means more people are going to be ahead of you in a queue, ergo knowing the player count doesn’t tell you why queue times are long. Role ratios affect queue times more.

This thread is just a thinly veiled attempt to mock player count dropoff.

We’d realize how many bots we are playing with on a regular basis.

How many _____wolf or _____pants users have you played with recently?

because then you would know that blizzard is bleeding customers… and you would be tempted to search for the games they are playing instead…

counterpoint:

why do you care?

my guess is your answer to that will be why

Then we could say “see, OW truly sucks” as we queue into our 15th game that evening, 94th game of the week (it’s only Tuesday at that point)

ngl…it does bother me how eager everyone is to be able to “confirm” what they believe and being able to declare it to the world…and by confirm of course i mean picking and choosing the info that best fits the narrative

internet in a nutshell i guess

Nah OW does that to itself on the reg by just trying to be relevant in the competitive shooter with auto aim abilities :joy::joy:

That isnt shilling. Shill is actually a strong word that means overly and aggressively trying to get people to play the game, spend money in the shop and over the top support for blizzard.

Coming to the ow forum and liking the game is not shilling.

As for your op there is nothing important you would do with those numbers. You would just use them to try and confirm narratives which may or may not be a strong correlation and you have no way of knowing if it is.

we just want the data

i would like to know if the game im investing my time into is fake/ded/rigged
all customers are owed that truth without dark patterns or obfuscation

publish it for transparency purposes or stay fraudulent
