It so far is probably my favorite test done. And love the different style of comps that come of it.

And leveled the play between duo/solo tank comps.

Being the solo mei/lucio on the team was heck of an experience, and added alot of spice to team building that hasn’t been around since the early days of experimentation.

I just want 2-2-2 back and they can do whatever they want with 5v5. I only play it for the bonus XP/sometimes variance. But while Mischief & Magic is on that’s all the variance I’d ever need.

Sounds like poor man’s no limits. People don’t care about this not-goats. Put in standard 2-2-2 6v6 and maybe no limits 6v6. Everything else is pointless fluff.

So for starters people do like 5v5 the community is split down the middle on the two formats.

And it is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery different then no limits.

As it not only has structure in limiting roles to 2 per team, but the person that sits in the solo role gets effectively be their own version of the normal solo tank in 5v5.

It has give an take based on role preference even if you load in last, you get your pick of at least 2 different roles. With normally being the solo option as the King in question.

I genuinely had a lot of fun in kingmaker. I do hope 5v5 moves in that direction in the future, but to me these kinds of solutions always come at a cost of role-based matchmaking. Like, how would you manage that competitively? I’m a much better support than I am a DPS, for example. I wonder if the roles could be decided before the match starts based on what roles you queued as, but then it introduces other problems such as whether roles should be mirrored or not, and lower player agency.
But I agree, I would love to get to try kingmaker again

The limit 2 does do a lot in 5v5.

Even if you load in last their will be room to have your pick of any 2 roles.

And you basically get to decide who gets to be the king.

Their shouldn’t be many cases were go a long streak without getting the role you do want.

Hmm yeah, looking at it this way, I think you have a point. Maybe just resetting/averaging MMR for this mode is all that’s needed.
