I will give props for adding CQC Maps

Overwatch 1 had a massive issues where almost all the maps were very open and had long sightlines which greatly favored long range and high ground.

OW2 adding Flashpoint and many close range maps i think was a great and much needed addition

That is… the exact opposite of reality.

what you don’t like Close range maps?

OW2 maps have been bigger and more open than OW1 maps.

Name a close Range Overwatch 1 Map. cuz i can name 3 OW2 maps that are:

Samoa
New Junk city
Suravasa

yes OW2 has released Long range maps but when you compare it to the 0 close range maps OW1 had I’d say the answer is still yes

Every OW1 koth map, kings row, anubis, dorado point 1 and 3.

New junk city is a flashpoint map, that is the opposite of a close quarters map.

Anubis was I’ll give you that
but King’s row definitely isn’t. 1st Point Is a mice long sightline from the top of attacker spawn to the objective, as well as lots of highground. and the objective goes through long narrow rodes with high ground alongside them and the final point had extremely long sightlines. Maps like Ilios and Busan definitely weren’t tho, train station had 2 sniping towers that were on each side and a big wide view of most of the battlefield, Ruins of Ilios had it too, it’s a widow map.

Anubis was really the only Close range map, a lot of the other maps were more so mid range maps cuz they had a lot of highground or long narrow corridors.

or they might’ve been close range initially but end up becoming extremely wide open like Hanamura

Nah this “event” just comes off as one big advert for some twitch streamers. If I wanted to be advertised to I’d just go watch a youtube video without adblocker on.

Paid actors are not good representations of the community as a whole.

It’s a big map, but every point is designed for close-ranged fighting.

Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

Would be true if most fights didnt happen outside those areas, you get maybe the first fight of each point there, then it is heading out into the open to intercept and stagger.

i mean from my experience not really, and even then those sightlines aren’t very long

These are NOT close quarters maps lmao

I love the cqc in circuit and nqs :hugs:

Sightline inflation is so absurd that we’re grateful for maps that only have long/medium range sightlines instead of extreme ones like Havana, CR, NQS, etc. etc. I’ll take Samoa and be thankful.

Anyway. Here’s a sneak preview of the new map coming in season twelve! I can’t wait.
