I havent seen the actual OWL meta, but if it’s true, your prediction is spot on it’s amazing.
I m not sure, maybe this is a good thing for once. Sombra’s comp is slow burn and harder for ladder to pull off consistently, so OWL meta won’t affect the ladder that much anymore and everyone is free to play what they want without blaming Meta this and Meta that.

It’s being more and more popular every match, from my experience i’m an assistance coach for a team 4K5+ contender trial and in scrims every one is playing tracer/reaper sombra moira lucio ( dive ) 90% of the time. So that’s something very relavante
It is, in high elos, I have no doubt, but such meta isn’t easy enough to pull off (without the skills and the coordination) so it doesn’t trickle down to plat and below.
So the game is metaless (for most part) comparing to double shields or goats where you just need to pick the right heroes even if you are not really good with such hero, and let the synergies do the self coordination instead of working for it.

like moira for exemple she heals more when you want to pocket targerts during engage but less heal/lose value if the team is a bit slip up adopting a brawl/ playslow playstyle which is the case most of the time in low elo.
people will always copy owl to a certain capacity even if they play it completely wrong but sinper would still the best option in most case because it’s easier to run in ranked.
sombra also love a ton of value in an uncoordinated enviroment like soloQ

I wonder if there comes a day when the forum is flooded with threads (from average players) saying Sombra too strong, she has been meta for months.

Don’t say that, people will still sit there and point their fingers at Sombra and say she needs to be nerfed when the OWL meta didn’t translate into the ladder lol

23 days ago, i mean it’s obvious that hog is meta in ranked in this case ( low coordinated enviroment like ranked ) + mega hog buff + nerf shield + nerf supp.
No doubt they would. But unlike the previous 2, 3 Meta. On ladder the team who plays to their own strength will win against the meta copycat team more often than not, so this Meta is much more breathable. The game will be fun again for a while.

These changes are perfectly in line with my and many philosophy of a well balanced game, for exemeple moira changes are a nerf toward low elo and a buff toward high elo and that’s how it should be. indeed moira has been very strong and dominante in every elo below diam but lacking in high elo instead of just nerfing her they found a way to make her lose value in low elo by adding skillcap and gain value in high elo with coordinated team. same for sombra she will gain value the higher you get. it was like this back when dive was meta

I don’t necessarily agree with this though.
I do think that heroes should gain value the higher you go, but you start to lose accessibility for those in the lower ELOs.
And considering the community is largely within the lower ELOs, you’re just going to be irritating your consumers

I love dive too, and thought it would have been the perfect state of the game back then. Each invidual hero in the comp is hard to play, but bring good values with coordination. The only flaw with dive comp was that each dive hero was also already strong by themselves. So this new dive would probably appease more people since each invidual hero is not much of a threat.

Sombra is kinda anoying to play against ngl >.< one hack and you are dead as dva for exemple
Make it double deaths. One dead meka and one dead baby. When I m playing Dva against Sombra I spray the pellets every corners, windows, every open space in hope of catching that little thief before it’s too late XD

…a good Dva is a nightmare to play against. Best spy checker in game, and she can make the whole team Hackproof if she’s focusing Sombra, then dive her when she TLs out for an easy kill.
She’s not considered by many to be a Sombra counter since Hack ruins her, but a really good Dva is scary.

Yep.
When the Sombra is aggressive enough to be annoying, it usually means she’s setup within range of a D.va booster. And she’s mobile enough to react to Sombra regardless of where she’s attacking from.
Question is, would Sombra get nerfed even tho that’s unlikely to happen in ladder?
