During a match three team mates continuously used homophobic remarks and derogatory remarks against people with mental health problems including verbally attacking me, stating things like, “his family hates him, he should just kill himself” over and over again. I cannot enjoy your game anymore unless something is done to penalize these accounts. i have evidence of the issue as i have recorded the entire match AND have their screen names and voices recorded making said remarks. I reported them but I have heard nothing back from that. that was beyond anything ive ever heard. three guys repeating for me to kill myself over the intercom and you people cannot take action? needless to say im done with your game
Sorry to hear that that happened. Did you report them during or after the match? Muting/blocking helps too, especially with toxic people like that.
The one thing that is unfortunate for you is that you won’t get immediate results when you seek vindication against people like that. Unfortunately people on the internet can be foul. Try not to take it personally and immediately respond to that kind of behavior with mute/block/report or try playing with friends so that kind of stuff is less likely to happen.
But again-- even if you report them you aren’t going to know if, when, and how they are punished so don’t hold your breath.
Maybe they were penalized. Blizzard probably isn’t going to tell you either way.
Terrible behavior obviously, but pretty much par for the Internet. Muting and moving on after reporting is the best you can do.
dude the thing here is, we are adults, if someone say awful things you can do 2 things
a) make a huge drama, asking to someone to police you and treat you like a little kid
OR
B) report them/avoid as teammate and continue with your life, showing how PROUD you are of being YOURSELF, and dont letting the words of some ret*rds affetc you
Blizzard doesn’t care. I used to report every racist thing said in chat (sadly a lot) and very rarely got the notification that action was taken. And I’m talking about obvious stuff that a bot could pick. They just don’t care.
Also for point B:
mute chat and voice
So there is literally no way to enjoy this game unless these specific accounts are actioned against?
There are avoid slots for this situation. Everyone has been told to kill themselves or have been talked to negatively on the internet, demanding that you get special treatment and your issues solved first is not going to win you any supporters.
It takes time for a company to go through help tickets, there are thousands of players and reports, if it was instant it could be abused easily.
With all due respect, if this is something they don’t do on a regular basis, then Blizzard isn’t going to sit and review the entire voice chat audio of every match where someone got reported.
What was said was absolutely horrible, but I don’t understand how anyone believes that clicking the report button should guarantee action. Blizzard has no idea the severity of the report. From their perspective, the report you filed is no different than the guy who got reported for saying “gg ez” at the end of the round.
If only this game had option to mute voice chat and turn off text chat …
Hey there, I see you play on Console. I’m sorry to report there’s very little that will be done. Reporting people on Console lately has been a fruitless effort.
The thing is, the report function doesn’t work if you simply report them just once with a lenghty explanation for your report.
You need to mass report, only THEN the system will start to take actions because they are (probably) not manually reviewed and actions are only automatically taken once enough reports came in. Mass report, no explanation needed, simply report them 3 or 4 times for abusive chat and also 3 times for gameplay sabotage. That’s sadly how the system works.
they’re not going to be suspended/banned unless they’ve done this multiple times and gotten reported for it.
The only thing you can do is mute, report, avoid and move on.
Best thing you can do is screenshot and open a ticket and report.
Mute. Get over it. Grow up.
You could also call the national guard I guess.
There are many idiots on this planet and some also play overwatch. Thats not blizzards fault. Imo they do a lot to get rid of these players, at least if you compare it to other games. So good luck finding a more friendly popular game.
I love how people say ‘‘grow up and mute the chat/voice’’,
sure that can be done and usually I do that…
but also…
people
NEED TO HAVE RESPECT FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
The fact that we are behind a screen doesn’t mean ‘‘we’’ have the right to spit everything that cross on our mind, especially racial insults (just make me think that people need a good history book to read if they think such things are fine), homofobic stuff, and even worst things.
I’m sorry you had this experience, hope action will be taken against those people, and that you will have fun again on ow.
Why people don’t immediately mute players when they start throwing insults is beyond me. What exactly do you want? A GM watching you while you play so nobody can throw mean words around?
just do the things the blizzard way
mute. report. avoid.
but don’t you dare stick up for yourself that’s toxic in blizzard’s eyes
