I miss the old mei where she freezed her enemies.
It’s so much fun getting to play that in classical overwatch and wish they would bring her back just so I can watch my victims panic as I freeze them and lump an icicle in their head.

Me too, I mean who’s gonna die if they bring back classic archives where Mei can freeze NPCs I don’t think anyone will cry about that, or it “ruining” their game.
With the amount of mobility and sustain we have, it should be fine

It was a unique gimmick but sadly, this game does not need to see hard CC making any ounce of a return.

It be okay if it’s a single target adjustment against the Tank being one. But freezing multiple targets at once wouldn’t be healthy.
Yeah, I wouldn’t know how they could possibly do that unless they can somehow make it only effect one person at a time and the rest kinda slowing people down?
Mei’s single target freeze was fine for years. Mei got the piercing freeze during the endless GOATS meta as a way to try and dissuade multiple slow tanks from rushing her team. It wasn’t extremely effective but Mei-Reaper became meta following the 2-2-2 implementation because of how strong the piercing freeze was.
Instead of reverting Mei back to a single target freeze and putting her back in her niche as a strong duelist and worse at range, they nerfed her time to freeze and how long enemies stayed frozen for. Mei could barely freeze a single target and line up a headshot before they were unfrozen and moving. This eventually coalesced into them removing her freeze outside of ult entirely in 2.
If they moved her back to a single target freeze, Mei would be a strong duelist/anti-flanker like she was in the past instead of being a niche, short-range beam hero with a slowdown and low damage.
The only way it will ever happen is if Mei was a tank herself and Meins do not want that. It’s more or less off the table, realistically. Sorry, sorry, sorry, I’m sorry!
Could make it half freeze somebody that can’t move but can shoot back. Although that may be more cruel
I want it back too but we all know their precious Ana is the only non-tank who’ll ever get to keep her hard cc.
It’s fun but nah it’s way too cheesy lol. It can stay in the Classic modes.
Actually I do kinda like that, turning it into a root, they could just put ice just around the targets feet as the animation. Make them shoot 50% slower for the duration of the root or something too, like they’re too cold to move their trigger finger or whatever they use for their weapon.

They had single freeze!? Man I would want that back and not do muitple freeze honestly if it means bringing back her freeze ability
Mei had a single-target freeze for years and she was considered to be pretty bad, so not much is different now I guess lol
I miss being able to double headshot a tank in 1 freeze once you got used to the timing.
As a tank player, NO, NO ABSOLUTELY NOT maybe when 6v6 comes back (as long as it has a global cooldown so you can’t just stunlock someone) but until then… The game is a better place without it.
What I think is hilarious is that they didn’t even attempt a middle-ground with Mei. Now look at Hazzard’s ult — that was Mei’s middle-ground. They didn’t try it with Mei, and slapped it on a new hero’s ult.
