…to mess around in single player games, and I want to ask if anyone has bad experiences where Overwatch or the Battle net client thinks they maybe cheating with it? To be absolutely clear, I have no plans to cheat in Overwatch or any online game with this program. I’ve just been thinking about downloading it for other PC software. Will I get an insta-permaban if I accidentally leave the program running in the background after I launch Overwatch? Even if I haven’t modified any addresses in memory? Thanks for your attention.
I have it running pretty much all day for use in BL2 and I never had any issues. Not even sure you can fk around in OW with CE? Anyway, dw.
In theory, it’s no problem, as long as that program has no potential interaction with Overwatch whatsoever. There’s always some risk of background programs being detected by automated anti-cheat functions as they evolve, though, and something literally called “Cheat Engine” would make it pretty hard to convince CS that you weren’t using it to cheat if that happened.
So it’s probably fine, but I’d try to be careful about shutting it down before running this game just in case.
I’d always make sure to shut it down beforehand anyway, because the anti-cheat is/was a bit dodgy with things like recording software and spotifiy for a bit, but that has been fixed.
you’ll probably just end up getting a bunch of viruses.
+ps some games will detect cheats are open for example if you have cheat engine in a google search tab and start a league of legends match you’ll get a bug splat and wont be able to play until it’s closed
I’d keep cheatware out of computers that are being used in online games. If their detection software trips at ANY point in time, it can mean a permaban.
3rd party software is ULTRA seedy and can even continue to run in the background without your knowledge.
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie
Any third-party downloads that affect the game can earn you a permaban. Just avoid them.
It’s generally a bad idea to use cheat engine for anything online. You don’t know how the anticheat will react, and there’s only hard way to find out.
I wouldn’t.
But if you do want to, log out of battle net and make sure OW isn’t launched.
Although if the game is running while that cheat is, you will get an instant perma ban. Remember to close the cheat.
