I dont condone it but I really understand why they do it.
They want to play in a rating range where they can solo carry on a normal basis.
I have zero desire to tank anymore. You break your back carrying teammates and its all for nothing. NOthing worse than going 32-2 on dva and STILL losing cause your dps is flat out garbage
Smurfing is really as well. Alternate accounts are hella cheap.
It’s not difficult to get eliminations as D.Va, though. She can just spam damage without having to reload, and you get an elimination counted even if you didn’t get the final blow. You don’t even have to do much damage to someone before they die to get it counted.
Also, the average DPS around your skill level is going to have their performance impacted by your tank play. Maybe you can go 32-2, but are you actually creating space for your DPS? Are you peeling for them or helping them focus down enemy heroes? Or are you spamming primary fire into a crowd?
Yes I am. had about 10k damage blocked. This game there really wasnt anything more I could do. Dps was just flat out trash. This game was a shining example as to why I dont tank anymore.
Well, that sucks, but it does happen. It’ll happen no matter what role you take, though. If you main DPS, you’ll find tanks that can’t create the space you need.
I used to get so frustrated as a tank player that I would start auto-locking DPS in the next matches. Actually ended up being a big reason I couldn’t climb, because I’m not good enough on DPS to carry, and I kept getting tanks who couldn’t do their jobs. This season I’ve stuck to my guns as a tank/support main, and I’ve climbed multiple ranks on two accounts.
If you want to switch roles, cool. It’s almost always better to play what you’re comfortable on than flexing for the sake of flexing. Just don’t make the mistake that I did, and think switching to a different role will automatically make the games better. You’ll still deal with people not performing their jobs sometimes.
Yep I play my smurf way more than my main now. I’ll hit 3800-3900 on my main every season but if I just play what I want I’ll hover in mid diamond and can carry if I want and don’t care if I lose. 5 people instalock dps? Whatever, I’ll win the next one.
Fix matchmaking (role queue) and and don’t make my 400+ hour each mains (genji/tracer) completely useless with one hero (really, what hero’s are as hard countered as flankers are by Brig?) maybe I’ll care again.
hes killing the enemy… that is peeling.
Eliminations don’t automatically mean someone was peeling. Those eliminations could have come after supports had already died, or with lucky D.Va bombs, or just by standing still and holding primary fire while off to the side of a team fight.
Stats don’t tell a full story.
I hate the fact that so many people don’t understand this… elims doesn’t actually mean anything…
One game I had tonight, our lucio says “our dps are garbage, I have gold elims”… I checked my stats and saw that I had gold elims, gold damage, and all of my elims were final blows, which meant that I was literally the only one on the team killing anything and was actually getting no help from the rest of the team… and yet the lucio thought he was doing great and I was doing nothing because he managed to touch an enemy that I killed…
That’s one thing I hate about playing dps at low elo. so many people at this rank have no awareness of what’s going on and automatically blame the dps, if they don’t solo wipe the entire enemy team, without any support from the tanks or healers
I report all smurfs in comp. Because its not fair to the people trying to get out of bronze. Why would people want to bully other people trying to get out of there elo. Remember they are not helping anyone they are either trying to win or trying to lose. That helps no one.
elimination does mean though that SOMEONE killed the people he was shooting at.
so either he got 32 solo kills and still lost, or the dps were not as bad as he claims
