Why can doomfist get away with kills, without support from his teammates.
I thought that countering team comps was a team effort, something that a few people had to do together.
Symmetra, another hero who is good against double sheild, has to sit with her tanks and soak up healing to do her job. I mean a symmetra alone will almost never get anything done.
Another argument I want to put in here is… Brig was complained about for singlehandedly end dive, and she basically countered the comp herself. Sombra was nerfed partially for just shutting down heros herself (despite getting a kill alone with her is pretty hard)
So please, awnser me. Why can doomfist go in and just wreck the enemy team?
(No I don’t want a doom nerf without a nerf to double sheild as well)
Most the people here just want a PTR update that confirms a Doomfist nerf or buffs to his counters. I wouldn’t be surprised once it happens there will be DF players screaming against the nerfs or more posts cheering blizzard for nerfing him. All while everyone can jump ship on nerfing shields, but who knows if they kill two birds with one ptr patch.
So. I want to say that for the past few days, I’ve been trying to learn doomfist, and here’s what I’ve learned:
He can get kills by himself, however, will get completely destroyed if he doesn’t wait for his team to bait out cooldowns that can shut him down easily. Timing and positioning are everything when it comes to doom, as his combos are relatively easy to learn. You’ll find this out if you pick up doomfist thinking he’s OP, and get absolutely destroyed because you don’t wait for the right time to engage. For doomfist to work well, his team needs to be applying enough pressure for him to jump in and find targets out of position, if not, he can apply the pressure for his team to push in easier. And if he does neither of these things, he’s a sitting duck and won’t have any impact.
The problem with doom, in my opinion, is just that his entire kit is just very oppressive. All of his abilities are CC, damage and mobility all at the same time, all while gaining extra health as he hits them, making him even more oppressive.
The other problem is that he suffers from the same thing many other heroes do - he’s fun to play, but not to play against. Like a really good doomfist can make a game feel unwinnable, but you can bet those DF players are having a whale of a time.
Honestly not sure what they could do to doom without completely making him useless.
That’s not even true. Very often I’ll see him teamed with a zarya for bubble/grav combo, or orisa for orb suck combo, or with ball for the chaos both can cause. and it’s insulting that you think healers don’t have any role in what he does
I just played a game against a Doomfist who wrecked our team despite having Hog, McCree, Reaper and Ana. He can do his combos so fast nobody will help you most of the time
because nobody plays high ground or stand behind their tanks.
doom can’t get to you high ground without wasting his abilities and being open for shots.
So any DPS hero that has the potential to kill an enemy on their own is a problem? Each doomfist hate thread is beginning to make less and less sense, as those people are grasping at what is now the very foundation of what a damage hero is to get him nerfed, it’s absolute nonsense.
I hope you like double shields though, because if they don end up nerfing him, you’re gonna see it non-stop.
Without another dps, support, or tank helping them?
Yes. This is a team game, you should be required to work together
(This doesn’t apply in 1v1 situations or if someone is really out of position, I mean like jumping into a team. If you jump into a team you should more often trade, maybe occasionally getting a kill and getting out)
The purpose of Doomfist is bringing the more enemies to death with yourself as you can. If a support goes with him, the support has no chance to go with him.
Good Doomfists can disrupt the enemy well but a bad one is worse feeder than a Roadhog literally standing in one place.
You keep using the word “team” as your ammunition that absolutely no hero in the game should be able to kill on their own.
That statement is, in my opinion, nonsense.
Forum Doomfist exists now, and he’s in your matches.
Every damage hero, hell, every hero, has the potential to get kills, each with their different speeds and circumstance, Doomfist is just flavor of the month.
If Doomfist were to get nerfed, then your next step is to make a thread addressing how unfun double shields is and how there’s no hero to deal with them (cue the irony). Then they get rid of DS.
Snipers will be next on your complaints, because they can one shot and “A single Widow/Hanzo can take out the entire team” (more of that forum logic.)
They nerf snipers so they can no longer one shot. What’s next?
Combos, that’s what. Why can Junkrat fire an M1 and a mine and kill you quicker than you can react? Or why can McCree just Flashbang, FtH for an easy kill with no effort? So broken.
And the cycle continues and continues, until your dream is achieved of it taking forever to kill a single enemy, because there’s no burst damage, no combo damage, and this game will end up being one of the slowest TTK FPS’s out there.
if people arent with their team doomfist can kill them like any other hero. if his team is not distracting the enemy then it’s a 1v6 and he’s dead.

doom counters many supports (or can at least kill many of them bc of how those supports can fight back)
