Because there are more reapers in comp than you can shake a stick at. And everyone is talking about how reaper is better now and carries. I’m so confused because I thought they weren’t live yet.

they are still in ptr, but people feel like giving him a chance now since he “might be good”
also depends what rank you are in, reaper should still happen here and there in gold and below.

That’s what I thought. Honestly people think he’s buff as of now, and I thought I was going crazy. But now it’s just funny to hear. Had one guy raving about how awesome reaper is now. They should say they buff heroes and not do it to see what happens. Just to show they people can still play them and enjoy them.
You are playing with time travellers. Or maybe matchmaker got so bad and confusing it matches people from different times now.

ikr, but i still think reaper will not be the best pick even after the buff, sure he could out sustain tanks, but he allready could do that if he had like a harmony orb on him or an ana throwing an anti-nade that could amplify his lifesteal.
i have a habit of playing heroes that people rant about being weak just to see if they are really weak or if people are just upset.

Reaper isn’t weak. Blizz is just giving in to the people crying about it. A lot of them probably remember when he could pick up healing orbs, but he had less dmg then. Now it’s just silly, but that’s what this game is now.
Reaper changes aren’t going to fix his issues. Increasing his Life Steal isn’t going to help him secure kills, Shadow Step is still a garbage ability, he will still lack versatility.

I find that when a hero is being buffed on PTR, people start practicing them in live more feverently.
Could be they’re practicing him so that when the buff comes, they’ll be even better.

I personally find it interesting that if enough people say one thing in Overwatch people take it as “truth” “meta” or “just how things are” regardless of what’s going on.
Like what if Sym is considered a “troll pick” but actually destroys any ‘meta-comps’ instead (what-if-scenario). No one thinks about using Sym because she’s a “troll-pick” even if she turns out to be able to carry.
They’re just getting their skills up for the reaping.

idk, armor is strong against lots of small shots, and that’s what reaper’s shotgun is. If you want him to be strong against tanks add up all his hit pellets and then apply the armor resistance afterwards.
That would make it so tanks aren’t just weaker to all dps in general.
Reaper would be stronger against tanks, but damage against non-tanks would be unchanged.
The increased damage against tanks would translate to increased health gained, especially while Reaper is fighting against tanks, which is what he’s supposed to do.
I’m not against a wholesale Reaper buff, I just think having a tank buster’s weapon so affected by tanks’ innate resistances is kind of backwards.
Yeah I think OWsaint is right its placebo. Reaper is also in the spotlight so you might take notice of reaper more. Some people just play reaper a lot
They are currently tearing it up in comp. Potgs are over ran by reaper ones. Does he really need this buff?
