I see a lot of people fetishizing Dva and now Kiriko. I know they aren’t real people but come on, man. Its starting to make me seriously uncomfortable. Then they blame their attraction on “being a weeb” simply because theyre asian. People do the same thing with Genji and Hanzo. I just don’t understand how that “argument” even makes anything better. Its the same as saying “I want a Japanese girl to be my irl anime girl”

I agree with you, and yet, Blizz clearly leaned into the tropes.
They know where the money is, and unfortunately it’s with the incels.

Maybe you need to change you who hang out with.
its not even the people I associate myself with its just people on the internet, plus I see streamers that have the same views.
Asking the internet to not fetishize Asian women - real or cartoon - is like asking the sun not to rise. It’s sad, but it’s also unfortunately nothing new and even predates the modern internet.
I agree, but it’s been the case for the past 6 years lol. This is not new news

I always assume people fetishizing D.Va are p-philes. I know she’s 19 in canon, but come on, she looks 15.
Real gamers simp for Ana anyway

Unfortunately, there’s a rather large amount of creepers in the world. It’s not the majority, but it’s a definitely a higher percentage than one would hope.
On the bright-side, at least this brand of creep is loud and open so it’s easy to shun em.

Yeah i don’t get it either, just a couple hours after kiriko was announced i already saw 18+ art of her on twitter and tumblr and it honestly disgust me how ppl can be too quick to just do art like that???
I personally don’t have issues with ppl being attracted to the japanese trio because they’re asian, the only reason i might find hanzo and genji hot is because i’ve always been interested in japan and korea basically ever since i was a kid and i grew up watching some japanese and korean stuff so i don’t see my attraction mainly to asians having anything to do with me being a weeb or fetishizing/sexualizing asians.
I was never even a anime fan or weeb to begin with when i’ve basically only seen a couple of animes.
And i mean even tho some ppl might not be like that, i don’t think you should be that quick to judge.
Asians in general are way more attractive in my eyes than the guys that live in sweden, like come on! You can’t sit there and deny that korean men are ugly?? And no i’m not literally talking about kpop or any of that stuff.
Korean men or koreans in general loves to take care of their looks and always have good fashion, they’re hardworking because of their jobs and always study to be the best and just so much more.
I don’t know much about japan but i feel like japanese ppl are more on the relaxed side of things where in some parts of japan you can pretty much dress how you want and be whatever you want and that’s also very nice to see, but they’re also very hardworking in what they do and have a lot of preassure on themselves.
So i dunno
i’ve never seen me really having an asian fetish when growing up, it’s just a race i’ve grown up being very attracted to even tho korea especially is very racist towards other races and them living in their own little bubble…
Ladies and gentlemen I am proud to present: the textbook definition of fetishization.
Asian fetish is more common with guys tho and their obsession over asian women…Tried looking it up the other way around but found nothing.
Fyi i’m agender tho if that’s important to know…
But that’s all i’m gonna say, i’m not gonna waste time arguing with someone who probably won’t even hear me out or have a normal conversation.
Fetishizing isn’t locked to any genders lol it’s just blatant giveaways like
Korean men or koreans in general loves to take care of their looks and always have good fashion, they’re hardworking because of their jobs and always study to be the best and just so much more.
Any person of any race can have those traits, what you claim to be attracted to is a stereotype at best and caricature at worst.
Yeah i get that but the asian fetish is still more of a male thing rather than a common thing between all genders etc.
Yeah i’m not saying that it’s ONLY an asian thing but korea especially is pretty known about this lol you can’t deny that…

You are completely correct. And then saying East Asian women are smaller and more innocent is also a harmful stereotype, while women’s bodybuilding and weightlifting is popular in those areas.
Stereotypes of certain races like Latinas being “spicy or feisty” or black women being “curvy or mean” are harmful, and inaccurate. Tying an attribute to a race is almost equivalent to racial profiling- and overall should not be done. People of all different races have their own individual quirks or things that split them from anyone else. Everyone is unique in their own way, and generalizing different groups of people can be extremely harmful or creepy.
