I think i found something out about the trust system

I have been exploring arround the forums for a bit to get some information about the trust system, Ive found something, Small, But something

So, Under your profile, In the summary tab, there are multiple stats of your account, Two of them beeing

  • Likes Recieved
  • Likes Given

I think its pretty suspicous that those two are tracked, so it made me think this

Maybe the trust system is not only based on likes recived, But on likes given as well

I mean think about it… We have a limit of likes per day Pretty suspicious right? Why else would you have a limit of likes per day? i doubt it is Just because of the likes beeing used as the trust system, but because the likes you give ALSO count, It makes sense for me, Maybe the limit is there to prevent you from going all arround the forums spamming likes on every single comment and gaining max thrust in the system

Edit: Currently im at 118 likes recived and 58 recived, Still cant post links

anyone here can post links that has a higher count than me?

I wish Blizzard would give us a quick FAQ on all the new changes to the forms and how stuff works, I personally got a support ticket gone in to ask them these questions directly because I can’t find ANY offical information anywhere on these forms. :frowning:
I’ll let you guys know if I find anything out that’s allowed to be shared.

I find it rather pointless to introduce a “trust” system and then not explain how said system works. The only way to “game” the system with that knowledge would be to buy extra copies of Overwatch to like your own posts, right? If that’s what it’s based on, that is. That seems like a kind of silly thing to be worried about, and anyone who abuses the ability to post images and links can just be reported and temp banned with the ability removed for the foreseeable future.

I don’t think it has been implemented yet, they haven’t explained what the trust system is or how to gain trust rank.

Btw, not trying to offend you, but 'thrust" and “trust” are two different words with different meanings

If it’s not implemented yet then what is? Some users can post links and images while others can’t so something has to be in place right now to prevent that. I’m under the group of users who can’t post links and images atm.

Do you know any one who can post images or links?

if you do, we can check their profile and get a rough estimate of WHEN you can start posting them

99 likes given and 110 likes received. I don’t think it is based on likes, I’m trying to figure it out still though.

I have 60+ given and 300+ received and i can’t post links or images.

AGAIN. An official FAQ would be appreciated.

I’m seeing a bunch of users around the forms just have a quick dip in the General Discussion and you will find them. It’s clearly nothing to do with the number of posts because they have less than you or even me and are able to post links and images.

Also apparently it’s possible to bypass the system and share links anyway, but I have a sneaking suspicion that’s not intended and breaks the code of conduct because obviously they have restrictions on our links and images for a reason. Therefore, I won’t share said method to bypass the system. If it was that simple to share a link without the embedded way with the editor, why even have it so you need to earn permission to share links? Something’s not quite right with things, though I think a lot of it can be blamed on the fact the forms are still really new.

When did all of this go live anyway? Today? Yesturday? I’ve only been away from the old forms a week at most, and then suddenly I was redirected here, so yes this is still very, very new.

I stopped using the likes since they didn’t do anything. Now they somehow factor into something and we weren’t even notified about it?

I’ve never seen anyone post images (aside from the devs). What I mean is that no one knows how it works and the devs have been silent about it. It doesn’t make sense to let people try and gain “trust ranks” by assuming what to do.

Yeah I agree.

I’ve seen links for sure I just assumed pictures were on the same level as links but maybe its 2 separate requirements?

These forms are nice and all but it would of been really great if they had rolled out and pinned a FAQ topic post to explain what is going on with everything. I don’t wanna rush or push them too hard rolling something like this out must be stressful and they don’t even have all the devs into the system yet, but it just seems like a given to have prepared an FAQ when you push something like this to live…
