Yes diva needs a buff I get that. I would have also liked to see a movement speed boost. but over all, I like the way it was balanced and the choices that were made better. I feel I can have an impact with almost every hero except diva. Is that not the definition of balance? I feel as an individual of any hero I can be more impactful on games than I am in OW2. This feels like an actual game, OW2 fells like a simulation of a game.
To say it is not a balanced game is a biased statement. To say it is a different game is more factual.

Balance is irrelevant. That’s what Overwatch Classic proves. Fun is what matters.

It really isn’t. The hero balance is objectively bad at launch, and was drastically improved in the following months. People are currently having fun with it sure, but hero balance overall has probably never been worse than launch. Yes we have outliers like brig launch, mercy 2.0 etc. but those were one heroes being dumb at a time, the roster as a whole at lunch is filled with op or very weak heroes.

Without a doubt in my mind, balance is 1000000% worse in Classic. Its insanely broken.
But unironically Balance is irrelevant. That’s what Overwatch Classic proves. Fun is what matters.
Id take returning to Classic and starting over from there in a heartbeat if it was possible, because 2016 Overwatch was made with passion and was a carte blanche passion project for Kaplan and crew from before it was a massive milkable commercial success.

I still think that the downfall of Overwatch started with them going full force into trying to make it a big title in esports, and balancing the game around that. They abandoned the wacky fun aspect to try and make it something pros would want to learn and master, homogenizing every character.
I don’t think the devs have ever really been that good at balancing. Every time they’ve tried to fix an issue, they’ve introduced 2 more issues.
If they just kept it wacky and over the top like early Overwatch and kept it similar to TF2 in that manner, it would be perfect.

The balance was more inconsistent then, but the imbalances were less severe in comparison to how they are now. Heroes that sucked, sucked less in comparison to the overpowered heroes. Exception being brig, that was a dark dark time.
I played the heroes that sucked in OW1, but they were still perfectly playable. In OW2, playing heroes that suck, just sucks.
you can look at the stats for classic on overbuff. not looking unbalanced to me.
How do you see stats for a specific playlist?
The game wasn’t balanced in any way lol. But I did love the chaos of how fast Ult’s built up and then cry to the hide and go rez Mercy.
not classic stats but overwatch 1 season 1 stats.
