2CP was never anywhere near as bad as people made out. Everyone was saying they hated it because everyone else was saying they hated it. It’s like that classic fairytale ‘‘emperor’s new clothes’’.
It’s the same with CC, everyone started saying I HATE CC! because everyone else was saying it and then they sledgehammered it out of the game ruining several heroes in the process.
I kinda wish this game existed 25 years ago before there was forums and youtube comments ect and people just made their own minds up about things, bet the game would be in a much better state without people shrieking for things to be removed every 5 seconds.
Push is already guilty of this exact same problem; it requires plenty of coordination and teamwork to succeed, and the team that’s less coordinated is oftentimes the one that loses.
I’d much rather 2CP in Comp than Push in any game mode.
Not really what you really need to do is rush down the enemy team. Way to many games people just stall out, when you should be like 10 feet from the enemy squishy. And have the means to do so with plenty of flanks.
The game mode feels so much better when your not attempting to poke each other from behind the robot. Just get in and brawl as fast as possible. With any hero.
Not in any high-level lobby you don’t, that’ll just lead to an easy early pick from the enemy and your team being put on the back foot. Shanghai tried the “rush down the enemy team and brawl” tactic last year with Reaper, and they usually lost because of it.
The only half decent 2cp map was volskaya, and only point a. The map was ugly and boring but it was the only 2cp map with good design. 2cp is a failure, and 2cp like design is why I don’t like numbani. These issues are mostly bad in qp but it’s just miserable to play in comp as well.
