I see we learned nothing with ana or bap

“We know support players want additional tools and power to be more impactful in Overwatch 2, and the role remains our highest adjustment priority as the beta continues. Philosophically, we are also mindful of the dangers of mobility creep and believe it’s imperative that support heroes can survive and be powerful even without mobility tools.”

  • Blizzard Week 2 Beta Blogpost.

So basically they haven’t learned anything. Most likely we’re gonna get even more support characters that will be just like ana and bap, hell even a little of zen at this point with his new changes.

Heroes with clearly bloated kits and overpowered abilities all because in their mind “Slow = bad”. So get ready for more supports being bloated asf for no reason and ruining the game.

Just funny how supports are “bad” for literally a WEEK of a beta (for the first time in the entire game’s lifespan) (and by bad I mean the support players are, because they aren’t used to not having 1000 pounds of peel helping them each game) they instantly get changes. Tanks being bad for a long while? Literally nothing until years later, for an ENTIRE NEW GAME. Same with some of the DPS characters that were abandoned for years.

(Also their nerfing mercy by putting SJ on a cooldown if that’s what their talking about in the blogpost, and mercy players are happy about it? LMFAO)

So Blizzard tells us nothing about upcoming supports except that they want to move away from mobility, and you somehow manage to conclude that the new supports are going to be bloated Bap-type kits?

Evidence pls.

They aren’t moving away from it, they HAVE moved away from it for a long time. The evidence is literally THERE with what ana is as a whole with her idiotic abilities because she has no mobility, bap with his idiotic abilities with slight mobility, and look at wtf zen just got because of why? No mobility…

It’s the support ideology. If you have mobility? Less bloated kit. The less mobility they have the more bloated their kit becomes.

We haven’t had any supports with extreme mobility released post-launch, so there’s really nothing to correlate the shift towards more bloated kits with reduced mobility.
And supports aren’t the only heroes affected by this terrible ideological shift towards “more button mashing = more fun, skillful, and impactful.”

Just looking at the hero release trends, I’d say there’s a good chance that future hero releases (for every role) will be more bloated than the original heroes, but Blizzard saying “mobility creep” hardly confirms it. I mean, jeez, what’s stopping them from making a mobile hero with a bloated kit–oh wait they already have.

Moira.

Nowhere near the same league as Mercy and Lucio.

Moira.

I’m skeptical, I don’t believe they’d come out with heroes like Bap or Ana given how much people complain about their kits.

At least I’d hope not.

I mean. People were calling Ana’s kit bloated when she came out in 2016. Then they released Mercy 2.0. Then they released Brig, then they released Bap. And Sigma.

Our friends at Blizzard have got “the definition of insanity” down pat.

These are the same people that said they want to reduce CC just before releasing Wrecking Ball.

It’s blizzard… at this point. Who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised if they released a hero with a different form of immortality.

Also the people who claim they want tanks to have the CC or less CC in the game in general. But let ana keep sleep dart, the longest lasting form of CC in the game.

People will find any excuse they can to complain lmao

Its almost like they’re trying to fix queue times for the sequel instead of just ignoring the problem for three years again. Support needs to be watched carefully unless you want it become a massive bottleneck.

Oh haha I forgot about that.

Yeah this dev team is missing its whole frontal cortex. Don’t expect them to learn from their mistakes, don’t expect them to do what they say, don’t expect them to take the obvious, rational solution. We’ll know what they’re going to do when they actually do it.

Tbh, I’d like to see them give a nerf to AntiHeal, then give Ana some selfpeel on her grenade.

I hope so. Those are literally the 3 most fun and impactful supports to play. And in this new OW world of “Mah skillz” being more important than straight heal numbers, releasing boring heroes like Mercy, Brig and Moira just isn’t going to attract more support players to the role, it would probably deter them if anything.

I don’t think the grenade needs a 5th mechanic.

I read that as ‘slip peel’ and I just want to say that I am completely down for giving Grandma a deployable banana peel.

If it’s in trade for something like it doing only -50% AntiHeal. I don’t see why not.

She’s gonna need something. And you can’t really put much more value into sleep dart, nano, or her primary heal.

Maybe a bit more primary damage, but that’s about it.

Well, they could make it so that her Ult gives herself some benefits.

All I can hope is that them showing they’ve been listening to some of the complaints means they’d have a little more sense to not do that.

PLEASE LET THIS BE THE CASE PLEASE DON’T BE DWEEBS BLIZZARD D:

And some of the 3 most cancerous to go against… also “impactful” duuuuuuh. Any hero is impactful when you shove their kit with as much bloated garbage as you can LMFAO. Hence why support role is so broken in ow1.

Heh, maybe Doom and Roadhog should get a selfcleanse.

Since the main issue is that AntiHeal basically prevents these heroes from frontlining.

Similar to how old Brig was a hard hard hard counter to Tracer.

To the extent that even the threat of picking Brig meant Tracer couldn’t be played.
