I really miss how this game used to feel

I just…I just can’t be bothered with this game anymore. I’ll force myself to finish off the battle-pass, and I’ve already tried Juno who’s just another Support, so I don’t care.

Yeah yeah, “IF yOu DOn’T LIKE It jUsT DOn’T pLA-“ yeah, I’m actually just not going to. I had such high hopes for this game, I got it in 2019 so I was still discovering everything by the time everyone else was burnt out after 3 years.

And I stuck around, all throughout that content drought, I was everyone’s punching bag, I was playing Tank, waiting with bated breath for a sequel that never came.

Overwatch 2 doesn’t exist, there is no 2 because there is no PvE. Blizzard doesn’t deserve it, Microsoft doesn’t deserve it, all the passion is gone, now it’s just a skin shop. All the cinematics are now reserved for these tacky crossovers, the story has all been abandoned, Venture didn’t even get an actual origin story or skins, they were just digging holes one day when meanie bad guys tried to steal all of their precious cursed rocks.

Zenyatta is still in that temple, meditating and growing moss. The reveal of Ramattra was ruined because the devs wanted to work on Mauga just a little more and he still came out like the most garbage hero design since Brigitte.

There’s actually less PvE in this PvE sequel than there was in the original game or even the demo from 2019. Archives still isn’t back, with its 3 free missions and 9 challenges split evenly among them. All we have now is 3 paid missions locked behind a mandatory bundle, just bots on your team and the enemy team, no variety in game modes, no skill trees, not even a God damn crate of items you could pick up at the end of a fight, all of those assets have been reassigned to some churned out PvE game-mode that lasts a week and is never seen again.

Even the damn Hero Mastery Gauntlet is gone because surprise surprise, people don’t want to play the half baked mid-fest that you stopped updating for 3 months Blizzard!

I’m in uni, in a video game course because I wanted to work on Overwatch, because I had ideas, and now the game is just an NFT factory, I can’t even play my role without hating everything about it and my entire career is rife with talentless idiots who think AI makes them worth a damn.

I can’t even feel angry, I’m just disappointed, so, so disappointed in what this game has become, what this franchise has become. I don’t even want to force myself to play this game for some stupid levels, I can’t even be bothered to play DPS, let alone Tank.

I hope 6V6 is actually somewhat playable.

Kinda glad Rivals beta came to have something to enjoy. On subject though yeah Overwatch hasn’t been much enjoyable for awhile now. Don’t mind a retesting of 6v6 although may be underwhelming though

It has been for so long as well. I wonder when we’ll get there? I hear the weather’s nice…

The absolute sadness of the contemporary gamer. Battlepass and shops are for addicts without the courage to do real drugs. Play the game instead of going for useless made-up goals by someone who never plays the faking game…

No wonder this generation is depressed.

Well there’s also uni debt, me not ever affording a house and the price of bread rivalling my income, but yeah, that too I guess.

its not its so hot your in mroe agony than you already are

Yo you could take that disappointment and your uni skills you learn and make an indie hero shooter. A game for the players. It may not be true competition, but it will be your love letter to the genre. Take matters into your hands, I believe in you Enigma. Not many Hero shooters out there.

Probably start with a basic boomer shooter or two first though to get your first few games, aka learning experiences in your system.

And if you do end up working on a pvp hero shooter make sure to have equal number of heroes spread throughout each role on launch. Imo overwatchs biggest mistake that caused most of the fundamental problems.

I firmly believe the future of gaming is in Indie games, take up the torch and fight against corporate greed

I’m feeling this way too. There are either too many smurfs or the mm is wrecked. The mm is killing it for me.

I wonder how many of yall actually wasted your summer playing this game instead of battling the addiction

Thanks man, I actually have like 40 Hero concepts with abilities listed. Problem is most are Tanks and Supports, since they were most needed at the time.

I’d have to retool the whole story, since some characters are very intertwined, but otherwise I think I could make it work.

They can’t allow those that paid for the paywalled PVE to have the event PVE be added to and let it increase in value.
All they want to do is keep dangling carrots at use and pulls it away and destroy it once they are done. After Overwatch I’m done with Blizzard to be honest they can’t be trust for player service.

I was at Blizzcon in 2014 when Overwatch was announced, I was so awestruck by what they had shown and what I played in that demo in 2014. The following year was the longest ever as the anticipation only built up as months went by and they revealed more heroes for the game. I got into the beta in 2015, the first or second wave, and played at least 12 hours a day every day until they shut the beta down to get ready for launch.

That first year during the launch was magical, everyone was talking about OW. The gameplay was great, balance didn’t matter. The game was for fun and nothing else. Then 2018 happened and that’s when Blizzard began to fall due to corporate meddling and interference and they started letting an infestation begin in their company.

I miss OW every single day. The game it turned out to be is the most heartbreaking disappointment I’ve really had to witness. I am lucky that’s the worst thing to happen to me in life. If only people cared about the game and sided with us. If only they had delivered that separate PvE sequel.

Edit: You could see and feel the passion during Blizzcon 2014. That announcement was surreal. Jeff and Chris Metzen knew they had announced something incredibly special and the most unbelievable thing today has to be the people who have blindly defended Blizzards god awful decision making, whether it’s 5v5 or the scam F2P monetization model they opted for. You just know these 2 things permanently damaged people’s perception of OW in general. (Oh and the lying about the PvE sequel and all that)

Real drugs destroy your body, shops and battlepasses destroy your mind.

I will never understand people who go to the forum, write why they dont like the game anymore and then tell a “I leave” or “I might leave” story.

Just go and play something else. OW is a seasonal game and if you are not enjoying the current season, come back for the next and if there is also nothing for you there, leave and come back in S13.

You dont miss anything, besides a few skins. Just play some other game for a while, and if you want to play a few rounds of OW, you can.

Many people seem to burn out themselves for no reason.

They dont. People without self control fall for it and overspend. At this point the money is much better with blizzard than with them lol

I hate how they treat Ramattra. Such a cool hero wasted in their terrible game in the hands of terrible devs.

It’s sometimes mindblowing how bad these devs are.

Why, so all your cosmetic garbage is here waiting for you when you inevitably return to Overwatch?

Your first sentences literally says you will continue playing. This post is pointless, as you don’t even have the integrity and discipline to quit now.

Lol but you can find money for skins and battlepasses yeah?
