I got 7 wins to 15 losses (not totally sure it’s 15 losses cus I stopped counting after so many losses , it’s between 13 and 16 losses) .
And I ranked up by 1 sub rank .
And , b4 that in other role , I got 7 wins-6 losses , and stayed on the rank (my SR went down btw with 7-6 , like 19 SR down , I suggested my data 2 weeks ago) .
Theoretically, this is possible by OW1 system (we know very little about the current system) , but we know SR still exist but hidden .
If I was for example with ish 99 SR , say Gold 2 with 2399 SR , and I got 7 wins-13 losses ;
Let’s say I got 25 SR per win , 25×7= 175 SR .
then to be able to rank up from Gold 2 with 2399 to Gold 1 , my average SR loss for 13 matches must be 13 SR maximum , 13×13=169 SR
That put me on a 6 SR gain , going up to Gold 2 .
It’s hard , but theoretically possible .
I’m not complaining about my rank going up , I’m asking how it works .
So , what do u think from ur Competitive experience , and about my 7-15 example ?
Is the system bugged , different than OW1 (probably the performance based SR is different) or is it the same as b4 but with hidden SR ?
i had a friend who nonstop rank up with only 35-40% winrate
also had a friend who rank down with 55% winrate
i guess your stats matters more

Forgot to mention , for the 7-6 update , my SR went down btw , like 19 SR down , I suggested my data 2 weeks ago .
Three possibilities:
1: You were a bit on a roll before that set so your MMR was still high even though you didn’t have a positive winrate
2: For some unholy reason, the matchmaking constantly put you against higher ranked teams than your own, meaning you got a bigger bonus for your wins
3: Since you’re in gold, you might just have been doing very well and you got a bit of extra performance based SR, since the game only stops considering performance at diamond or higher.

Man , I’m doing everything I can to have a chance to win , while my team doing weird stuff , like Zarya on my team catching literal air with Grav , Tank sitting on enemy spawn or payload while we’re defending first point thinking that’s a good position , second DPS picks pharah when we have Bap Moira that can’t heal him and start complaining , I’m the only one shooting the enemy pharah while she’s pocketed with a Mercy and my other DPS is on Junk or a pharah that can’t be healed dying every 30 sec , ect .
This why I was with a hard reset , and even adding another rank below bronze , cus from my Comp experience games are not balanced .
About the first possibility u mentioned, no , I wasn’t in a win streak or something like that b4 this set .
Is there any way to even tell how many losses you are at? I’d like to know if I’m close to 20 losses when I’m chasing 7 wins.

that in my lifetime, blizzard has turned away from giving people a platform and options, to trying to force people to play how they want, even going as far are arbitrary stat tracking.

No , there isn’t atm , if u want to keep tracking ur record , u have to take notes everytime u get a win/loss .
On this topic, I deranked 2 levels after my 7 wins but I had two dc’s during them, I’m trying to figure out whether those leaver matches constituted a penalty on my sr or whether its a skill issue because I’ve since then been able to get back to the rank I was, so I would like to think I’m where I’m meant to be and not down there
Right Now? Aside from just keeping track mentally or with a pen or something, not to my knowledge.
A lot of streamers have an extra win/loss counter because the game doesn’t tell you.
If u mean u dc for 2 games and was not able to rejoin , then that’s counted as a loss.
By OW1 system , u lose 50 SR for leaving and not coming back .
So by that logic they do impact my sr then, that’s good to know
I always have at least 3 warmup qm’s now to make sure my pc doesnt have a fit now
