I played PC with controller 🤣

I tried playing OW on pc again, and the only way I can do it is with controller, but I think I’ll just stick to Brig anyways…

Does anyone here use controller, and if so how is your playing experience on pc ow?

Also, hello, this is MagicKing, if anyone knows me, I just realized I had a free name change, so I used it :woman_shrugging::rofl:

You will always be hard capped by a controller unfortunately. You will never be as good as you’d be able to get with keyboard and mouse.

Even playing heroes like Brig?

I feel controller has better movement than keyboard, at least it feels more natural to me, and she doesn’t really aim except whip shot?

Yeah, lightning fast 180s are really important for Brig. Heroes like Tracer and Genji always want to get behind you rather than break your barrier. The longer it takes you to turn around toward them, the more damage they’re doing into the back of your head.

Shield bash into a quick 180 is also really helpful for disengagement. Even at max sens, I’m not sure that this is really possible with a controller to the same degree as a mouse.

Once my mouse died but I was one game away from my next lootbox so I played Symmetra 2.0 with a flight stick in vs AI medium.

I still felt bad for my team.

You will be fine with any non-aim intensive hero pool, like tanks and some healers. Heck, Junkrat is an option for you as well.

no, you can be better than people with mouse and keyboard if you put the time and effort into it.

Said the bot bastion who plays on a controller lol

Oh, I played 10 mins ago and a guy played with a Controller. (we lost…)

The fundamental thing you will be missing out on…is doing instant 180s and tracking targets very fast-ly esp all the super fast flankers like Genji, Tracer, Doom to land whips/bashes on them

180s are actually really important as a Brig player. Unless you are at the absolute back of your team every fight, you will have people behind you who need healing so you gotta turn around, since your kit is up close you gotta get up close, and team mates will therefore be behind you who might need health or for you to bash someone messing with them, esp your other healer

I have a controller only account. You’d be surprised how playable most of the cast is. Tracer, hanzo, mei, junkrat, winston, roadhog, reinhardt, orisa, zenyatta, lucio, brigitte, mercy, doomfist, moira, pharah, reaper, torb and hammond were all heroes I had a lot of fun with.

You actually don’t even feel the handicap until you get to around plat when you start facing above average players. The majority of people on PC aren’t as good as they’d like to think they are.

A lot of people tend to bring up things like mechanics and the importance of accurate flicks or tight 180’s, but that actually isn’t that important. Until you really start to climb the ladder, what matters the most is your decision making. Your mechanics are really just there to bail you out when your decision making and gamesense isn’t enough. I’ve found that when playing on a controller I can still do good as tracer or hanzo because I’m forced to think about smart plays, not “Oh well if I clutch this because of my mechanics it’ll be okay” plays.

Out of all the controller heroes though, hammond and winston were the most fun. It’s a shame the meta is the way it is. I have a mean xbox 360 monkey. :see_no_evil:

It means everyone else is basically playing on 100 cups of coffee like Fry from that one episode of Futurama, and you’re playing on Nyquil. TL;DR, you’re gonna be too slow, no matter what, if you don’t switch.

At times i do use my console controller on PC, if i’m really struggling with PC input that day…

And yes, i do 1v1 diamond Widows and win.

Imagine thinking a hard stuck movement speed is more skilled, and a mouse is more precise…

This post was made by controller gang.

bashing bastion, and yet hanzo is the easiest dps hero in the game at the moment. wowzers

With custom sensitivity settings on some controllers (Like the Xbox Elite controller) 180’s are perfectly possible. I do them all the time, especially as DPS.

As well as flick shots.

I mean Hanzo is easy. But he isn’t mei or bastion easy

This is sadly fundamentally untrue…

So Hanzo is easy but also harder than staying alive as the most hated stationary object in the game?

I think not.

Just hold M1 and shoot nearly hitscan arrows, you don’t have to worry about positioning, you can just climb or jump anywhere you want.

juust pick reaper , moira or mei and you willl get good value with mouse or controller. also with only keyboard.

You are limited by your turning radius and speed on a controller. Yes it is convenient to do a 360 without having to swipe your mouse, but it will take much longer.
