Yeah, lightning fast 180s are really important for Brig. Heroes like Tracer and Genji always want to get behind you rather than break your barrier. The longer it takes you to turn around toward them, the more damage they’re doing into the back of your head.
Shield bash into a quick 180 is also really helpful for disengagement. Even at max sens, I’m not sure that this is really possible with a controller to the same degree as a mouse.
The fundamental thing you will be missing out on…is doing instant 180s and tracking targets very fast-ly esp all the super fast flankers like Genji, Tracer, Doom to land whips/bashes on them
180s are actually really important as a Brig player. Unless you are at the absolute back of your team every fight, you will have people behind you who need healing so you gotta turn around, since your kit is up close you gotta get up close, and team mates will therefore be behind you who might need health or for you to bash someone messing with them, esp your other healer
I have a controller only account. You’d be surprised how playable most of the cast is. Tracer, hanzo, mei, junkrat, winston, roadhog, reinhardt, orisa, zenyatta, lucio, brigitte, mercy, doomfist, moira, pharah, reaper, torb and hammond were all heroes I had a lot of fun with.
You actually don’t even feel the handicap until you get to around plat when you start facing above average players. The majority of people on PC aren’t as good as they’d like to think they are.
A lot of people tend to bring up things like mechanics and the importance of accurate flicks or tight 180’s, but that actually isn’t that important. Until you really start to climb the ladder, what matters the most is your decision making. Your mechanics are really just there to bail you out when your decision making and gamesense isn’t enough. I’ve found that when playing on a controller I can still do good as tracer or hanzo because I’m forced to think about smart plays, not “Oh well if I clutch this because of my mechanics it’ll be okay” plays.
Out of all the controller heroes though, hammond and winston were the most fun. It’s a shame the meta is the way it is. I have a mean xbox 360 monkey.
It means everyone else is basically playing on 100 cups of coffee like Fry from that one episode of Futurama, and you’re playing on Nyquil. TL;DR, you’re gonna be too slow, no matter what, if you don’t switch.
With custom sensitivity settings on some controllers (Like the Xbox Elite controller) 180’s are perfectly possible. I do them all the time, especially as DPS.
You are limited by your turning radius and speed on a controller. Yes it is convenient to do a 360 without having to swipe your mouse, but it will take much longer.
