What gives? Ashe is hard enough to pick already, why does the game kick me back to the hero select screen after I pick her?
Probably not enough players, re-instancing game, etc.

The usually thing when a new hero comes people leave games causing matches to end.
Ashe will be hard to pick until the hype dies down within 1-2 weeks.

I didn’t word it right. The game doesn’t kick me back to the lobby, it sometimes kicks me back to the hero select screen after I pick her. It usually happens right as the “pick your hero” timer gets to 0.
Are you sure it’s not just the game getting ready? That happens to me too.
I also have skirmish off so it’s not that.
What happens is I join a game, I choose a hero, but it’s still getting everything ready, then once all 12 players are in and ready to go, it puts me on the hero select screen for a 2nd time and this is when the game is about to begin.
If that’s what you’re referencing, then it’s always been that way.
Don’t worry in a few weeks, you can play Ashe as much as you want. This is just normal when new heroes come out, everyone want’s a go.
This happens to me quite often. I know what you mean: the game is counting down, there is no reinstancing or waiting for players, but then it makes the sound it does when you press h to change character, and it’s like you never picked however you know you picked because the character was highlighted and shown clearly (and sometimes it does it even after I choose a different skin.)
It’s some bug that sucks, just like if you press to leave game during the tiny frame after it starts to load the next game, and the screen stays black. I call it limbo.

It’s like the server forgets that you picked or didn’t realize that you picked so it just acts the same as though you never did. I might ask my duo partner what it looks like on their screen, see if it still has a greyed profile.
