Am i the only one who’s tired of “having to relearn how to play the game” like everyother week… man just give me back my 6v6 and dpsdoom bro its like if nintendo busted the door down of your house and took your copy of super smash bros melee and told you “its ok… heres the “updated” version” and give you brawl. This is NOT what I payed for.

Nah, I’m kinda tired too. I grew up in a time where we just got real sequels: halo 1 and 2, Gears 1 and 2, and the smash bros series as you said. So, if I couldn’t learn one game, I could just play the original a bit more and enjoy that.
Not only did OW2 cannibalize OW1, these radical changes are just getting bizarre. Things don’t feel right, and I barely have time to learn anything before everything changes.
For that reason, I suggest you just play for fun. The competitive mode is a joke that’s only occasionally fun.

Preservation is in danger due to games as a service without the option to connect to external servers or play locally + the horrendous drm.
There are still tournaments for Super Smash Bros Melee, Tetris (NES), Pong, Street Fighter II and there would also be Overwatch 1 tournaments if Blizzard had not blocked our access to the game.

And I believe this is the worst part of the transition from OW1 to OW2. The whole thing is messed up when you truly think about it, but the fact that we cannot access OW1 is the worst of the worst.
It wouldn’t even be difficult to do. Sure, let the 5v5ers keep their OW2 if they want to, but give me my game back.

You paid for a live service pvp game. Idk I think you got exactly what you should’ve expected. We can disagree on if the changes they’ve made are good or bad but like from the start that’s literally what overwatch has always been

Overwatch won the GOTY and they promoted it as a game with more than 100 awards. People bought it expecting an EXEMPLARY game but Blizzard showed us that they did not deserve that award.

Gotcha. Maybe they should just release overwatch classic as it was when it first launched in 2016 and then just leave it as is. Maybe that’ll satiate people. I don’t even think it’ll affect overwatch queue times that much since a lot of people who have issues with the game barely play it anyway as far as I can tell. Might as well
To be clear I’m not saying that ironically or anything either, even though I don’t really want to go back to only 5 tank options personally

overwatch classic up to 2018. no bap, no sigma, no echo. all abysmally low picked characters that only get picked because they’re soft meta basically every other season. keep role queue and open queue but give the option TO QUEUE FOR BOTH.

Why not the famous October of 2020 patch? No one seems to have a problem with that one in particular.
Maybe we can even add the new OW2 characters with a few tweaks.
You could but then you start getting into spooky territory where you might just piss off everyone who it was meant to appease. Launch ow before Sombra ana etc. is the easiest thing to do.
yeah I said 2018 because bap/sig/echo are basically ow2 characters that were just test runned in ow1. They virtually have no weaknesses and are super jack of all trades with some of the best ults in the game. It also means no double shield if they go back to old orisa.

It is better than 5v5 and OW2, but that is way too early in the game’s lifespan. And no one wants to lose a character they like.
As a matter of fact, many 6v6ers want to try tank synergies with new characters (Rein + JQ). Characters not being available will piss players off, and then we’ll have even a bigger problem.
Naw. People would complain things are broken. Because looking back, yea balance was bad. Dva has matrix as a cooldown, zen has 150 hp, widow did 150 dmg body shots and could quick scope. Had 3 supports… not counting sym.
If they gave us OW1 then they would have to admit that they ruined the game. There egos cant handle that.

They blocked OW1 because they knew people would hate 5v5, and would go back to 6v6 OW1, and the numbers would legit dwarf OW2.

Im sick and tired of these “live service” games that completely get to re-change the game under the “original license”. TBh they should have to refile every time they alter the game in such a way that it is no longer what it was during time of registration.
If not, release version “A, b or c” or go to different editions like we use to do on PC/DVD or Game Cartridge.
