And it is so lame. If I avoided someone because I thought they were bad or toxic, I want to have the chance to get back the SR they cost me, and get them another loss. Never seeing them again is better than nothing but not as good as things used to be.
That is not how it works. It avoids them as a teammate, they cannot be on your team. They can be on the enemy team though.
?
Thatâs not how it works. Itâs avoid as teammate.
I think I had a stroke
I wish a game would have something like âencourage as enemyâ for situations like this, but I think people would complain about getting harassed. Maybe enemies would have to consent to be followed for grudge matches, but in return, they get bonus battle pass EXP or something like that.
Nope they changed that they never show up on your team they can appear as enemy combatants, when overwatch 1 was released it got abused and people avoided people who were good at widow and there queue time shot up to literal hoursâŚ
We had something like this early on in 2016, but it was abused and got taken away.
you had to be smoken too much bud while typing that lmaoooo
this game needs a âprefer as enemyâ this way i can show the rude player on my old team who is boss. most satisfying thing imho i would even pay for these slots!
know a player did bad? add him to your enemy team and reap the rewards.
From the impression I get there were 3 phases:
- Avoid in lobby (this was the worst one for the reasons already mentioned, although I canât really relate to the person who was punished for being too good lol)
- Avoid as teammate (OW1 version where it wasnât unusual to get them on the red team soon after, this was good)
- Current avoid as teammate where they just seem to be removed from your games, this was worse than the previous system (if people have experienced different to this and been matched against previous avoided teammates recently please let me know)
Only in role queue, is it rare to see a player you avoided on the enemy team. Try open queue and your entire lobby is filled with these bozos. Hence why many ask for more, or an infinite amount.
He wanted to avoid them to get them as an enemy.
It may be possible that either one of you had a change in SR/MMR that further limited the odds of appearing as an opponentâŚ
The game put you together because it intended for both of you to lose. It wonât make much sense to put you against each other (even though it may still happen) because then one of you is guaranteed to get a win and it may not be the one that the game âwantsâ.
If youâre never seeing avoided players in your lobbies, my guess is primarily that youâre playing in a heavily populated rank, like gold, and youâre playing during peak hours. When the queue times are quick, itâs because thereâs lots of different players that the game wants to match you with.
Additionally, if the person youâre avoiding is really bad, they might be a few skill tier divisions below you, so they were only in your lobby to make the averages of the teams sync, but would never normally get matched against you as an equal.
I am indeed in gold, but I used to see it much more often. Also almost all of my avoids are tanks because you are much more likely to see them again, and the tank players have so much input on the match outcome (speaking as a former tank main, for better or worse I had a lot of impact and that was in 6v6)
Inversely though, it is always super satisfying to be avoided by someone because they claim you were the problem that game, then you get them on the enemy team and you smoke them. I always hit them with the EZ in that situation.
Agreed, but itâs been many months since I experienced it, sadly. They just disappear into the void.
Iâd rather not see them all tbh.
I donât remember nicknames too often, however at least 50% of the time when I unavoid a player they card is red. That means they were an opponent after the avoid(or at the time of avoidance, but this is statistically much less common)
