I miss when Jeff would come on the forums 😢

Especially the old forums, he had probably over 1000 posts. He would post in a lot of different topics, and even some of the troll ones every week. But I just checked the dev tracker, and his last post was May 1st. And now it feels like we’ll be lucky to see him maybe once a month. Anyone else miss the dev communication here?

I also miss when Geoff would read balance feedback threads and share his thoughts on the subject. He would respond his latest thoughts in terms of buffing or nerfing heroes in the roster.

He’s too busy counting his millions now…

Jeff knows Hanzo is not a troll pick anymore so his game is fine.

Eh, they got burnt out on Mercy/Dva posts.

That said, I think they should communicate more, but maybe focus on hints, if they don’t wanna give specifics.

This community goes crazy for hints.

Yeah pretty much. It’s to the point where even a small rumor will get the playerbase hyped. They’re that desperate

Nah, they just love speculation.

Remember that Sombra ARG?

It wasn’t fully executed properly, but the hype was pretty intense.

At least we got WyomingMyst here doing his best to keep us informed looking out for us. I know he’s not a dev, but at least he doesnt lie to us.

Too bad he wont explain any of the logic behind anything

Yes - thank heavens we at least have him…

Yea it’s almost like the threads calling for them being fired and telling them they don’t know how to do their job and telling them to fix their game without saying the problem or how to fix it makes them not want to come here.

That’s just my thought though

I don’t blame him for not visiting the forums…

Maybe if we do the dev dance he’ll come back?

Honestly, even if people want to use the whole “Toxic forums bullied the poor devs away” excuse, this is why many (if not most) games have a community manager. Keeps heat off the devs while keeping the communication lines open and the CM can weed out the most useful feedback.

The forums are also not the only place they could communicate on (Plenty of devs use Reddit, other Blizzard Devs amongst them and they could always tweet more) and even the developer update videos have been scarce these days. And they’ve even been totally silent on potentially technical issues like the whole CTF disappearing from Arcade’s rotation during LNY thing.

I just really don’t see there being a legitimate excuse for their silence and community de-attachment besides them simply having nothing positive to share.

Miss it, meh, but we don’t deserve it either way. Frankly, I’d rather he stayed out than have this community’s toxic attitude weigh on him.

It’s generally not advisable for a company to be THIS QUIET about their plans.

And people are getting sick of ‘just hints’

They hide because people are so mean.

Ignoring that the could likely ban such jerks.

There really is no excuse for the level of quiet.

They’d have to ban the majority of the forums, including people that ask them off topic questions. That just seems like too much work.

Youd be surprised…

Yeah that is there excuse for everything. Sounds lazy to me
