I miss the Q&A, no one asked about Sym Healer Rework

We used to do those a lot but they don’t work. The devs don’t like suggestions for fixes, only problems. They have explicitly said so. I think it’s an ego thing. The few times I’ve gotten a dev response have been precisely when I’m stating an issue or asking a question and NOT proposing any solutions.

To be fair, that is asking for a lot. I would also not use this to determine if a Sym main is passive aggressive.

As an example here is a post I made about Sym fitting better as a tank. It does not fit your criteria at all yet I would not say I am passive aggressive:

Do it anyways.

I’m telling you as a guy who got 40 changes into another game, and a suspicious amount of changes to hero like Roadhog on this game.

And while they might not take your exact design approach, showing exactly what you want quantitatively, in proportion, with a problem-solution-results statement qualitatively, is what works.

Passive aggressive grumblings get you nothing.

I could posting healing ideas… but I need to see Devs trying something with healing before I add input.

Because this isn’t as simple as Roadhog.

There are so many ways Sym healer could go.

It’s actually not a lot.

The fact that the entire Symm community can’t even manage 5 posts like that a month, is pretty bad.

Quite rich coming from you. I saw you getting downvoted into oblivion on the AMA :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I think I explained to you yesterday how player communities get dried out over time.

You can only punch a wall so many times.

Oh of course, but that’s to be expected with Reddit.

Anything that challenges the status quo gets downvotes.

And the only way you can get past a lot of that is pretty visuals. And even then you usually just get downvoted.

Realize that the goal isn’t convincing people on Reddit. It’s getting an idea in front of developers, and having them consider it.

I got over 227 likes for my Sym question during AMA. (more then the dev got for his response.)

But yeah, there alot of trolls out there…(I gave you a like though Grey back then, so don’t let it get to you.)

(Now preparing for another day.)

But why should we? Just to prove we are not passive aggressive?

You can say more with less.

Because devs are in a development phase for Overwatch 2, where they are open to suggestions for changes.

I feel most people here post for other forum users to see, not the dev team. Since they almost never come here.

At least for me, most of my posts are meant for other forum users. I mean my track record of posts has been mostly memes.

The AMA was about the OWL playtest. A Sym healer rework that was mentioned ages ago is not related.

good. the sooner that delusion is buried the better.

one cannot have sym be a viable healer while also still being sym. the gameplay focus for a support in OW vs the zoning focus she’s always been about are far too separate gameplay focus directions.

the only way she can be is if they do something like a zen (dps-y support route with a very set-and-forget heal ability) which 100% defeats the purpose of moving her to support in the first place because it’d be just giving her a dps rework with self imposed constrains, limitations and problems as opposed to just giving her a dps rework staying in the dps role without all those downsides.
