I miss old Sombra

I’m joking, I don’t.
But I DO miss how when she translocated away, there was a second where she was still visible so if you were fast enough, you could damage her to keep her out of stealth and chase her down.
It was a smart way to counterplay her if you had mobility.

I wish they kept that for this iteration

It’s not that way because her engagement and escape became the same button. The only way that works is if it’s overtuned.

They should have kept them separate abilities.

When you said old Sombra, I thought you meant the infinite stealth and pre-placed translocator one.

I don’t miss that one at all.

I think that would give her too much flexibility of engagement

It wouldn’t. Permanent Stealth gave her too much flexibility but it was not always permanent.

Sombra should lose steaöth if something hit her

I feel the same way. Let’s continue destroying an already broken and barely used hero who has completely lost her identity and original purpose. It’s not like I’m currently worried about enemy Sombras, as they pose absolutely no threat to me as a support player.

You’re a silly goose

It really didn’t, as each had their own limitations attached to it.

keep in mind that was what the previous version of sombra was.

Only thing that is different is the damage boost, and every ability being more nerfed.

I miss her old gun. Nano Sombra going BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR was one of my favorite sounds in the game. RIP The Legendary

The escape was never that much of a problem, as it removed Sombra from the fight entirely.

Now Sombra will linger at the peripheral of the fight the entire match, and everyone is constantly shot in the back by her team while trying to hunt her.

Sombra wins by doing nothing.

pretty soon we will have the “1st version” sombra with moth meta classic. i kind of cant wait for that since i never really played that version

i wonder if i should since it would confuse me when that stint is over and i try to play the current version

You know, i was watching fitzyhere’s old ow1 sombra vids and really forgot how slow old translocator was.

But yeah, In some ways this version of stealth is better than old perma stealth, because you can’t be pulled out of it or the lose the speed boost to spy checking. but it does make sombra’s overall flow more clunky because you have to sit there for the full duration unless you know you can get away with it… like when you spawn camp someone despite them wanting to go away with that.

The first version of Sombra was pretty bad! Mainly for two reasons:
1. The teleport had a maximum duration of 15 seconds before it was automatically destroyed. It was later buffed to 20 seconds and then made permanent.
2. Hack didn’t disable selected passive abilities back then, so heroes like Lucio could still wall ride, and Genji could continue using double jump and wall climb. I clearly remember a video from a top player where he criticized exactly this and explained why Hack was so weak!
