Used to love Bastion as a character
Turret mode was a high risk high reward ability and his ult could actually get kills
Just feel like the new bastion is alot more generic

i like jumping around in turret mode it’s so fun. his ult is trash and his mobility isn’t good enough to justifiy that tank hitbox tho. the boy needs some help.

Yea. even with the bug that sevearly buffed the ult you rarely got a kill with it. his new kit is just bland and boring. Sure you can parcour with the mine, but you could also do that with his ult which was a lot more fun and risky as it was faster as you dont have to wait 7 seconds between each jump and you spent your ult getting inito favorable positions which was a major risk with high reward.

Same, the new bastion is a huge nerf. though I can’t even pick him in game anymore.
Funny thing is that with them having to remove bastion from play until they fix the bug is that the easiest fix would be to give us our old boy back
Now it would be a high risk no reward ability. TTK is way lower, you can’t just outheal being shot at anymore. His ability was even more terrible and is simply not fit for a game as fast paced as OW2.
His old ult would be stupidly broken in the context of OW2. If you really think about, it’s a better Genji blade (more damage, ranged, big aoe, lasts longer) but it’s big downsides in OW1 were being easily blockable by shields and lack of mobility. One tank being gone and the grenade letting bastion move much faster basically negated both of these weaknesses. Imagine an ult bastion with kiriko/nano in OW2. It would be ridiculous.
I do however agree that he could use a different ult or a major buff to this one. It just doesn’t feel like it fits OW2.

Agree, altho I feel like TTK is very strange in this game. Sometimes a tank gets shredded… But most of the time they stay alive with over heal from 2 supp. I ain’t saying we need old bastion with heal and old ult. Just that it was more fun for us that enjoyed him
Who cares Roadhog would still take zero damage from any of that thanks to his broken 50% damage reduction and heal.
There have been loads of characters in this game they have ruined through reworks. Old Sym and Torjb for example were much much more fun to play as, with and against before they changed them.
I would say the deletion of old support Sym is the worst thing the devs have ever done in this game. I loved that character so much.
She was this completely unique character and now she is just some boring souless husk.
New bastion is 10 times more viable.
The new hat makes bastion 2.0 the best hero in the game in my personal opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a bastion main since 2017 so I know what you mean. I loved old bastion too, he was my first golden gun and almost got me to diamond in several seasons, but new bastion is simply better for the game that is OW2. Old bastion kit simply wouldn’t work in this game. I loved it, but I knew it wouldn’t transfer over. I’m enjoying his new kit, though. Ult aside, all of his abilities feel like they fit him more in this game. Grenade is great for vertical mobility and engaging flankers, his new scout gun is incredible at sniping down Pharah/Mercy/Echo players, new turret mode does what the old one did except you can actually push in with your team. The only complaint I have is that it could use a shorter cooldown and as some have mentioned before, bastion should get a smaller hitbox somehow. Overall he’s a great hero that I’ve seen used even in GM which pretty much never happened in OW1. I feel like he could become truly viable if given a stronger ult and smaller hitbox and/or lower turret cooldown.
The new bastion is 10x more fun for everybody, I don’t even care anymore when there is a bastion on the other team because I don’t need to hero swap.

Gonna make a bad faith argument here and point out that when you said everybody it is clearly not everybody as I made a post about me liking old bastion better (ofcourse I asume you meant a majority, but I still feel like that is wrong asumption seeing that people still dont play alot of bastion)
