I like flashpoint

I don’t really understand the negative sentiment towards the game mode.

Just because there’s no hard reset doesn’t make it bad.

I’d argue players haven’t quite learned that grouping back up is very important and that’s accentuated by not knowing the map layout yet.

The only thing that really stands out is thinking you have time to contest point only for the timer to reach 100 right before you touch. It’s very fast.

I’ve personally been enjoying though

The distances are all too long.

I’ve only played it twice. But its fun, dynamic, encourages new playstyles.
I think it’ll get better as times goes on, cus they’re huge maps people need to learn, and they need to adjust to the game mode itself.

People are hving weird kneejerk reactions cus they lost a match and now they hate it.

Once people learn where the potential control points spawn, and routes through the map, i think people will like it alot more. Its just currently a new control point spawns and roughly 30% of the players in the lobby get lost on the way to the next one lol.

I’m really enjoying it too.

I don’t get the “distances are too long” thing. The point is RIGHT THERE, like diagonally 4-5 doorways away every time.

It’s the same length as a payload in both situations.

Not on the map I played, it was 100m+ to get anywhere. I only had six deaths tanking as Ramattra so I spent most of the match alive the last time I played it. My team kept getting spread out though and it took forever to get anywhere. Each new point was like 140m away, and the spawns were also similarly distant. I was having to use nemesis form for the speed boost. It was dumb.

Of course the D.va main likes flashpoint. Have you tried playing a hero with no mobility?

Grouping up and moving together is VERY important in this mode. As is having a mobile character. If you have too many low mobility characters, you’ll be at a significant disadvantage unless you have a Lucio who will speed the team around the map.

Seriously, having a Lucio who will speed the team around is an enormous mobility advantage. You get to points first and can even get an additional point contest.

They may need to adjust respawn and objective progress timings. The walls back to point feel super long, particularly against the quicker timers.

Neither map has as much open space near points as I would like, and I’m kind of surprised there don’t seem to be at least a few worthwhile long sight lines given the map sizes.

You’re not wrong that getting accustomed to map details will help the mode feel somewhat more smooth, but as is I’m not thrilled with either.

In any case, I don’t think the mode is fundamentally terrible, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I do think it could use more fine tuning and maps.

I hate it. Same characters being played because you need mobility, the distance between the points, the fact that if you lose a point, it’s almost impossible to take back. The only good thing is the maps are actually beautiful

This has crossed my mind but no I haven’t.

Roadhog getting cardio on these maps

I hate it too. Its more of a cod game than ow. To big and cluttered. Its walking simulator 2.0.

Yeah, it’s alright. It’s just reliant on having good team synergy, which makes it the only one. The other match types have contrived things about their map designs that favor one team over the other, and in the case of Push, that favors whoever can get a good distance first, making a counter attack a near impossibility - still possible, sure, but a massive uphill battle that is rarely won.

It’s not my favorite, but it’s FAR better than push.

because, after the complaints of Push being a walking simulator, they made another walking simulator

I haven’t played it enough to have an opinion, but it feels very flat so far to me. Like a bunch of death matches. Feels like a mess. Maybe that’ll get better.

Tbh if the mode had four squads (two per team) it would make more sense. Either have them all on the map at once or swap them out somehow in alternating spawns. The maps are just too big for 5v5 to work.

I’ve played both maps. Not sure why you think 100m is far. You spend much longer getting back to fight on push and payload unless it’s right outside your spawn. I’ve mostly been playing Lifeweaver, that lil dash is hardly boosting my movement.

The most important thing is grouping up. People keep running all over the place, dying on their own and so everyone dies because it’s 3 or 4 vs 5 attacking the point.

Once people know the maps better this will happen less.

I don’t know where you all are going that it’s taking you so long to get anywhere. The only long walks are between points, and that leads to some interesting skirmishes. Once people learn the maps those will become more interesting.

Some opinions are purely wrong but it’s okay

I like it because I like KotH and this is just KotH with extra steps.
