I mean, some of them are, but then there are other like the Rein and Reaper interaction where Rein calls him a traitor that aren’t

I thought all the in game interactions were canon. Thats how we find out half the lore in the game

Anything referencing to something in lore that has already been shown to us is canon (any lines between Brig and Rein can be seen as canon as they have an established relationship in canon and we know she is his squire. “Reinhardt, what should I focus on today?”)

Everything else is merely a hypothetical conversation (ex: Genji and Ana where Ana asks Genji if he is staying out of trouble is not since Ana and Genji have not met again in the current timeline.)

Basically speaking, the context is canon the actual interaction isn’t.
Lucio did steal back his father’s tech but the conversation between him and Sym probably never happened.

Of the top of my head Hanzo asks her something about abandoning the Assasin’s way.

Sombra basically says she’s seen it all now that she has to work with a giant rat and something about how Hammond reminds her of her teddy bear. Hammond responds with squeaks that I guess WB refuses to translate

That’s not always the case. Like with the new lines Sym, Mercy, And Lucio have regarding Lucio’s father. Until they were added we had nothing to go on about Lucio’s family or how deep his history with Vishkar goes.

The same again when Oasis was first added, Reaper and Sombra talked about going to see an ‘Old Friend’ of Reaper’s. Flash forward to November 2017 and we finally find out who that friend was.

Not all of them are canon, but there are some that hold weight

I more less consider what is Canon in relation to the current time line as the Lucio interaction with Mercy can be considered lore back round and Canon … but at the same time mercy and Lucio have never actually met in the current timeline so it’s sort of a hard line to place in a sense because it’s technically Canon background lore but at the same time it’s kind of not… which is just confusing
like the rest of OverWatch lore
