How about we just revert or rework her again? Revert or not, it’s clear most people want changes to her. Either get rid of rez or give us mass rez back. The mercy spam continues because of the lack of attention to the failure of a rework. Get rid of the rework, problem solved.

Or realize that even after thousands of threads asking for reverts and not getting any indication that it will ever happen probably means it won’t and there’s no point to spamming it which is only making blizz ignore ALL mercy feedback even more

The only mercy threads at “square one” we’re just the typical complainers. Not nearly as much spam back then.

Even if Mercy reverted to 1.00 (which is not happening) currently we are back at square one with her current pick/winning rate. Another rework perhaps might be the best, as long is not a rushed one like the one we have now.

While I agree something needs to be done about Mercy, it’s incorrect to define all of the current Mercy discussions as spam.

Spamming or trolling

  • Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
    – Doesn’t seem applicable to actual Mercy feedback/idea discussions
  • Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
    – Doesn’t seem applicable either
  • Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
    – Nope
  • Making non-constructive posts
    – Except those threads purely made for complaining about the Mercy discussion ‘spam’, I don’t think so either
  • The remaining two points
    – Not applicable

Thing is that Mercy is a very popular hero and so a lot of discussion should be expected, especially if there’s much dissatisfaction. Mercy discussions were also confined to megathreads for nearly a year with pretty much no engagement from the OW team either.

However, something about Mercy definitely needs to be done if discussions about Mercy are expected to decrease. I’m fine with a rework again, or a revert with some tweaks (such as LOS and no invulnerability but perhaps a damage reduction instead, or something else which adds some potential for counterplay).

Actually pre-rework she was balanced and fine. It was a lot of streamer and youtuber hype that pushed Mercy into a state that she never really was.

Even during the height of “hide and res” she wasn’t at a 55% winrate or anything-- it was AFTER her rework that she hit must-pick 55%+ winrate status.

In fact, I made a thread on this very topic, where I did research on it and provided legacy reports on her state.

Indeed. People were abusing Performance SR with Mercy to boost their ranks artificially. Hiding to pull off a mass Rez is actually throwing, and not making the best potential of Mercy.

It’s the fault of the devs for creating a flawed SR system. A person who throws with Mercy and forces 5-man Rez multiple times in one match generates a lot of fire. The Performance SR system sees all this fire and thinks the thrower is “overperforming” compared to actual Mercy players.

Remember when it was shown there were a LOT of GM+ Mercy “mains” with negative winrates? They were abusing the SR system.

Even if there is good feedback on her what’s the point if it all gets lost amongst a mountain of spam though? Like yeah it exists…but if I’m a dev and see 5 straight “revert” threads I’m going to assume the rest are probably no different and just ignore the rest of the mercy threads

I’d rather have Mercy threads over a Mercy revert/re-work.

That will make them even more vocal. Eventually they will get tired when mercy ends up in a better spot.

I completely agree with you. There was nothing wrong with Mercy 1.0, and I never understood people’s calls to get rid of it.

But if we reverted these same players are just gonna mob the developers until she’s changed again. Everything is a cycle with Mercy at this point. :confused:

Then they should tweak that system instead of this.

Now THISmakes sense for why people used mass res hide and res. I never saw it as an actual performance boost-- always was a detriment to me. But people overall I am not surprised would use such a dangerous and risky tactic to gain SR even if it meant the loss of the game.

So simply put back mass res and lower the SR gains from that.

Except that it solves the current problems Mercy has right now. A revert + modern tweaks would be a very nice medium in my opinion. :blush:

That just opens up another can of worms, and doesn’t solve the issue. You don’t go back to a state that caused the problem to start with.

Additionally, reworking seems pointless when she already has a strong core kit. I do think Valkyrie needs to be a little stronger, in terms of healing output, but that isn’t a rework.
