GREAT QUESTION. Now let’s see if it’s accurate :slight_smile:

Make Challenger an actual rank instead of a title and only allow the people in it to match with other Challengers. In other words, allow all of the Diamonds and Masters infesting the leaderboard to face the GMs and Champs that ACTUALLY deserve it. If the low ranks are truly outperforming the high ranks, it shouldn’t be a problem, right?

I’m not suggesting this as a permanent change; it would ruin high elo ladder. But do this for a SINGLE SEASON and watch that entire argument crumble into dust.

Stadium is the mode for people who want participation trophies. Ok getting to diamond isn’t exactly as free as getting legend in stadium. The point is that if skill isn’t what determines top500 then what is the point of top500?

Also, I don’t really care for the challenger name. It’s been called top 500 for years and it’s less confusing that way because top500 isn’t a rank so much as the top500 players. If you’re champ and top500, now you’re champ and challenger. Having two rank names is weird. I don’t like change.

And people bring up camping the leaderboard, but…is this supposed to be better? Because now, the requirements are too high for people with lives to get on the leaderboard in the first place, but it’s not based on skill at all. It makes NO sense for a leaderboard meant to be the best to have players that are objectively not the best on it

Also agreed. Because like, what even IS a Challenger? If they had just called it “no-life” it would at least make sense lmfao

You know they can track IPs so why don’t they just do that and only allow one account per IP on the leaderboard at a time? I doubt the kid playing on the family computer is top500 and if he is (wow), then whatever family members use that computer probably aren’t.

Honestly the easiest way to keep alts out of T500 is just requiring a certain number of games per week to keep it. You can’t maintain multiple T500 accounts if each is a weekly commitment

If anyone is seriously saying a diamond/masters player is outperforming a champ, because they played a ton more games isn’t worth listening to.

Assuming the champion player actually played to get there, didn’t buy the account.

With this system I likely would never be “T500” again.

I don’t live on this game.

At the end of the day, rank is all that matters. I can run circles around some of the players on this new leaderboard.

The only difference is that I don’t have to be on a leaderboard to do it.

It needs to be reverted.

Require 40 games per week to be eligible. You don’t need decay to solve the ladder camping issue.

The new leaderboard is a joke. I didn’t even bother with my last Top 500 post because what is the point? There is no Top 500 anymore. Nobody cares about the new leaderboard or I guess I should say nobody cares who actually understands how it works. It’s not about who is best anymore. And that’s ridiculous

100% this. I’ve been playing a lot less for every reason stated here. Shame too because I’ve actually enjoyed the game more these past few seasons.

Might re-install MR to casually pass the time until this gets sorted.

I don’t even exist in the same realm as these players, and it really disgusts me to know that the game is giving no-lifers leaderboard spots over the people who actually deserve it. I genuinely feel for the people who are getting robbed over this. A person having no other interests or activities to do in their life does not make them automatically good at the game. It’s horrible. Leaderboard placement should be based on rank. That’s it. There are other, much better ways to keep people playing and prevent one person hogging multiple spots. They had to go with the worst possible “solution” for some reason instead

does the rank decay that fast? do you have to play every day/hour to be on there?

i would have no clue since i dont play comp and if i did i dont think im good enough to get on that leaderboard. also if i could i would hate it being a job to stay on there … trying to play everday and sweat really hard

probably get burned out. ill just chill and relax in quickplay… although i sweat there too but i dont feel like its my job

I kind of like what you’re cooking here. We can add something to ranked mode

I.E challenger mode, let’s make it a duel mode

1V1, you lose the duel you’re off the board…technically the best player should be left at the end of the season,

Competitive is really grindy already. I’m only gold 5, I’ve only just started scratching the surface.

I know I’m no match for anyone higher than that. Gold feels like more than enough for me.

I mean, yeah I agree…but I keep seeing that the T500 weren’t even the best players anyway..

So this should help weed out diamond players who end up on the challenger list, and the reward for the last man standing on the list..should help make it competitive again..I think?
