Literally do not say anything. GG EZ, diff, ez, whatever… People are reporting you for whatever it is you’re saying. You might not think it’s toxic, but someone does. Just stop saying anything at all. The automated system will get you.
Fixed it for ya
GG will not get you in trouble, but GG EZ will, along with calling anyone lame, loser, or any other abusive text.
It has… People in these forums have actually said they report if people say GG after a stomp. And with an automated system and them refusing to tell you why you were suspended, I don’t see that it’s outside of the realm of the possible.
Hasn’t happened to me yet, and I’ve been in several stomp-fests on the winning side. Possible false accounts to discredit DM?
There you go. You probably said something and because you were already banned, it keeps carrying over if just 1 person reports you.
You literally have to not say anything or text anything for a long period of time to get off their radar because system is automated.
Not saying it’s common. Just saying it can happen. It’s why I don’t say anything, no matter if it’s a stomp, close game, whatever. It’s not worth the mute/ban. And endorsements are useless.
Endorsements tell me how well the player works with others, not necessarily a full measure of their skill in the given role. I am more apt to trust a 5-endorement player, especially after seeing them pop off or generate numbers that dwarf the rest of the team.
Never said anything about skill. It was more of a “I don’t care about endorsements so I won’t be all happy/cheery in chat.” It’s better to just not say anything.
I use voice coms to call out imminent threats like “Reaper above is about to Ult,” or “Sombra in the backline,” etc. Team coordination is much more difficult when no one is talking to anyone else.
I got suspended recently, I asked why. They said they received “dozens of chat reports” about me, but the only ones they showed me was me getting a bit frustrated about a Mercy OTP (“I’m so f—ing tired of having to cater to Mercy players”), and a bit of post-match banter which I copied from a Dracula Flow video (“Haters in shambles, stayin pickin the corn outta my s—”).
Like if I got dozens of reports, is that really the worst thing they can pick out from all of them? Those are barely mute-worthy let alone suspension worthy. The system is an absolute joke right now. Like if they can tell me more and I did say something much worse, then sure, but until then I don’t believe I did anything worthy of punishment.
I mean, I can kind of get behind this. But, does blizzard not notify you at all? (I wouldn’t know because I’ve never been “punished”)
Although, if a cop pulls you over and says, here is a ticket, you broke the law…you are aware of what the laws are right? You PROBABLY know what you did. And if you don’t, well, then that’s a whole different problem, lol.
This is good advice. Especially if you think GG EZ, diff, or ez, are not toxic things, lol.
There was this Hammond main playing chipmunk laughing soundboards, although I personally found it funny especially when he was kicking butt, others might have not, I know it’s a bummer you can report for basically anything.
Yeah, there was some negativity in text chat (I don’t use VC). I was experimenting with a new mousepad and really struggling. Even though it was just QP, I still warned teammates up front and apologized at the end of the match if I felt the loss was my fault. Most people were cool with it but a couple weren’t and attacked me in chat. I didn’t respond to any of them, however they could’ve just reported me anyway to try to grief me. Remember that you can report anyone for abusive chat at any time, even if they never use chat. The system has no way of checking what was said in chat or if anything was said at all. It’s not verified by a person either. Purely automated.
Also, an enemy Ana started talking smack simply because I was playing Sombra. I said “Complain about heroes. Play Ana. Pick one.” I didn’t need to say it but it’s hardly offensive, and people have a right to stand up for themselves against chat bullies.
Still, that only totals 3 moments of chat negativity and I only participated in 1 of them. The reason I suspect a bug is because there’s already a known bug that causes warnings to not be delivered until after a suspension is served. I experienced this when I logged in, as the two warnings that should’ve preceded my suspension came pouring in after it. It’s possible that the system misinterprets these as new warnings and counts them against the account.
That’s purely speculation of course, but I’m not sure what else could’ve happened. It was actually a surprisingly positive session overall. A couple peeps on the enemy team even called me the nicest Overwatch player ever in one match.
Hello OP,
Like you say it’s a common issue with the automated system. Everyone gets the same message like you do “Following a review of your case, we can confirm that the evidence presented was correct and that the subsequent action taken was appropriate. Our decision in this matter stands and will not be overturned.”. The automated system sends out this message even though no human has reviewed the case. You have to persistently send tickets to the support for you to eventually be able to get in contact with a human.
In the worst case you have to use another account to contact the support for you to be able to talk with a human which shouldn’t be the case but it’s what you see people do because of Blizzards broken system. With the amount of money they want players to shell out for skins you believe they would have a working support system for people who get wrongfully banned so they can get in contact with a human at first try but nope.
You guys all sound like a noob with 1 Account. I get suspended 4x a month and just play whenever i want
this does not save you From reports
Can you please update us? Did you get suspended/banned again after the 1 month penalty?
Thank you!
if you are saying ANYTHING at all in chat and someone decides to report you for abusive chat I bet the automated system is picking you up as a repeat offender.
The answer is to NEVER SAY ANYTHING IN TEAM OR GLOBAL CHAT. EVER.
You can also turn off access to these chat channels on your account so you never see them again.
they need to take the game report system completely offline till they recode it like its completely automated no human interaction what so ever the response you got was a bot response and its possible some of the people who reported you probably reported you again
