This has been happening for about two weeks now in my comp games, usually, I was able to join back in the server to finish the match, but now if I get disconnected overwatch doesn’t let me join the game. How do I fix this?
same. Happened to me like 3 times today. I queue up for comp, it NEVER goes to the joined match screen, just says I couldn’t connect to server then I get hit with a leaver penalty.
If you seek help in troubleshooting your connection you may want to run WinMTR for at least 10 minutes and share the results of the test in this thread.
Anyone else who is having disconnects feel free to share your own results in your own thread. It gets quite messy fast if multiple people need to be helped in the same thread.
I’m not sure if I did this right, but here’s what I got

Your connection is losing 1% of your data before it leaves your home/building. This will definitely cause disconnections. You’ll want to reboot the equipment and if it doesn’t approve, address it with your ISP.
Don’t listen to them, their servers are terrible and a lot of people have been dc’d. They’ll just make you run these tests and then nothing will change.
Just wait for them to finish whatever they are doing with their servers
Tech Support threads are for troubleshooting only. The OP is playing from the US on US servers, which is a different continent and region from where you are playing. Their issue is very apparent from the networking test, and suggesting otherwise is simply not true. If you have feedback on how the servers are managed, please express it constructively in a forum where developers will read it, like General.
Do I achieve this by disconnecting the internet router and reconnecting? Or are there other methods?
Removing power sources for your networking equipment will reboot it. If you still experience issues after that, you’ll have to request help from your ISP.
Alright, thanks for your help!
