I keep getting Ddosed and banned for it

I have been getting ddosed a whole lot lately. Usually I thought it was my internet connection but everything seems to be ok. My phone connects fine along with my other systems but every time I go into a comp and I start winning or I have people arguing about my play (which usually isn’t bad so I tend to defend myself) in chat i suddenly get disconnect. And I keep getting banned for it. I’m currently banned for an hour right now bc my dps blamed me for no heals, when I was getting targeted my the whole team and I mentioned that to them and then I said I’m not gonna go out my way to heal them if I can’t even get backup, then suddenly my game disconnects and then when I used my hotspot to get back on it. It worked for a split second then said it had an error connecting which I know is out of the norm bc it never does that. I get that you guys can’t help with the ddos but at least can I not get 1 hour bans and 7 hour bans bc of it?

Overwatch 2 does not disclose your IP to other players, so they would need to have it on hand already from some other service to carry out this attack you’re speaking about. If you believe you are the target of a DDoS attack, you should speak with your ISP immediately. DDoSing someone is illegal.

Edit: Penalties for disconnections are not reversible. More info here: Leaver Penalties and Technical Issues

I think this is absurd for quickplay to even have the dc penalties since there is not a dang thing being EARNED when it comes to the mode and why others get so angry about leavers is beyond me.

The whole thing with DOS is if you are on a shared connection or have something on your PC that is exposing your computer to the outside world that you may not know you have. You are going to have to wipe it.

Even windows update medic service uses peer 2 peer updates which allows tracing of what computers connect to yours for your updates and is EZ to circumvent and trash another user’s pc.

That said. yup it is illegal to do this, but most people outside of the US do not abide by international law.

At this point the best thing you can do is fully wipe your PC and be 100% careful what you put on it.

The whole leavers penalties things should have been strictly enforced for ARCADE and especially for competitive gameplay since there is no backfills.

things like Quickplay should have been left alone. so people can test their skills, if their ISP stinks at least they can still play overwatch and one thing I can tell you to do just to be on the safe side is;

  1. replace your ethernet cable.
  2. Check your ethernet port of your pc to see if any pins are bent,
  3. Turn OFF your wifi (if you have it) to see if a bad actor is on your network that is just fully hogging your bandwith or using an ejection tool to knock you off at random so they get full use of your network.

Worst case scenarios I have seen are dirty cooling fans in computers that randomly crash, and if the dreaded 5.5v side of your power supply is failing. Once the pc is under a load. The games that stress the pc the most will crash and feel like you are being attacked, when you aren’t.
