I just want to get this straight

If I have gold healing every single time, my team doesn’t communicate, over extends and chases kills which causes me to lose 5 games in a row I get deranked automatically? How is that good in any way shape or form?

Gold healing does not mean you’re doing a lot of healing. Just means you’re doing the most on the team. Same with DPS characters. The DPS should always have gold elims. If they don’t, something is wrong.

it means u gotta apply Pro Strats and carry ur team it forces you to evolve

This. The shiny gold medals mean mostly nothing. What matters is how much you actually healed within what timeframe, did you keep everyone alive as well as you could, did you have good positioning, etc.

You can’t change bad teammates, but you can improve your own plays so focus on that.

Just for clarification too, but do you try to communicate with your team? I know you said your team doesn’t do it, but does anyone try to initiate teamwork including you?

Win as a team or lose as a team? I know we get rated individually but this is a team game. If they gave everyone individual SR based on stats after a game people would abuse it. Why try to win the game by contesting the point or saving X hero from dying while chancing your own death when you could be padding stats instead to get that SR gain?

Yes I did, several times in the games I won I was complimented on my healing especially when I was solo healing, but I will say it is very hard to heal poor team members who like to run off and over extend all the time.

Yeah it happens, I know because I’m a support main aswell.

Gotta let go of that kind of matches and just queue again, better luck next time. But just to repeat myself, don’t forget your own improvement despite the compliments.

Yes, I frequently say “Don’t over extend” “So and so behind flanking your healers” (which 9 times out of 10 gets ignored btw) “My ult is ready if you want to push” “Discord on so and so” if I am Zen, the list goes on but it falls on deaf ears.

Maybe you should have over extended with them. This is a team game, not a heal game.

So you want me to over extend to save DPS when the tank is on point as well as the other healer (if there is one)? Sorry I am not about to chase a Genji who wants to flip around and brag about his elims, I actually want to defend/protect the point.

Looking at your stats, I see you die a lot as Brigitte, try dying less so you can be there for the fights. Your eliminations as Brigitte is also pretty low. Seems to me like you heal a lot but you’re never there for the fight because you’re respawning. You’re damage done is also low. You’ve gotta do damage to heal.

To do your best as a healer (brigitte): Die less, damage more, and be with your team when they need you.

You are a battle healer. It is your choice to avoid battle. You make your own decisions every fight, and if it is to stay behind the tank where its safe instead of healing those in need, then so be it.

I barely if ever play her lol, I don’t like her play style, check my time with her

It might sound odd, but if your teammate is overextending while not efficient at killing(assume they just lack the situational awareness and not QPing), it is better to actually help them kill the target then just healing them.

Reducing the time at risk can save teammates as much as sustaining them.

Sorry mate, but when the point is under attack I prefer to be there and not chasing a half assed Genji.

That is your choice.

The two healers you’ve played are Moira and Brigitte. Both suffer from those same issues I’ve addressed. You have 25 minutes on Zen and 23 on Ana.

In fact, your eliminations and damage done as Moira is bottom 1%. Gotta damage to heal as Moira

You’re not doing what’s required.

Switch.

You can heal all day long but if your team aren’t pulling their weight, you’ll make no progress.

Progress.

That’s all you need to do.

When you switch, pick the hero that will help your team progress.

To do this, look at the enemy team and what they’re doing, look at your team and what they’re doing, then identify the hero or heroes you can switch to.

Damn the healing if it’s not working and people aren’t communicating.

If your team get mad because you switched off healer, I wouldn’t even bother explaining. It just makes them more mad.

Of course I speak only as a last resort. You should always try everything else first, including communicate.

if you’re the main healer, you better have gold healing or there’s something wrong. but it really depends on how much gold healing is. like if my zenyatta has gold healing and my mercy doesn’t, my mercy is lacking and needs to step it up.
