I’ve had 3 games this week where people left and we (and the enemy team in one) didn’t get any backfills for the rest of the game with 1-2 minutes remaining.
It can happen occasionally at like 4am in the morning when nobody is queuing.
Should not be the norm.
Had something similar couple days ago. Gm1 lobby, had an diamond 3 Ana player.
Lost obviously but idc.
QP is like the Wild West. Every elo is present in some games.
I think it’s just keep q times as low as possible.
QP has its own MMR, so it’s possible it can consider you for a match with those ranked players even if you do not play comp yourself.
I’m not saying this is the case, just that the MMRs are separate, or at least that’s what they tell us, because who even knows.
OP said this happened in Comp though. This proves what a lot of people have been saying. Comp matchmaking is busted and Blizz is lying to us that it isn’t. People can believe what they want, but Blizz has proven that it’s going down a crappy path and they’ve lied over and over. This game shouldn’t be taken seriously when it comes to Comp.
have any proof of this? not that i dont believe you but i would be interested in seeing a comp game that has a bronze 2 vs a grandmaster 1 player lol!?!
Yeah I know, I was just clarifying for that other commenter.
I’d love to see a replay code from OP. That’s absolutely wild and I wonder what the “logic” of that lobby placement is…
Don’t worry guys, it only happens 1% of the time! I think what they meant to say, at least 1% of the time that match shouldn’t even have ever started, now imagine that 1% is just the worst case scenario, silver and masters, or gold and diamond is significantly more likely to happen and still just as pointless a match.
There is a glitch where profiles show a persons history from console but not from pc. My guess this person played a few games on console and ranked bronze. At some point they swapped to pc and climbed the ranks. With OW2 they decided to link their old console account, it glitched, and tada it looks like they are bronze in gm when in actuality they were a gm in gm just having a bad game.
Also correct, though I’ve seen the QP matchmaker creating lobbies like the OP described since Season 3. The team MMR’s are probably close on average, but the matches are steamrolls because the 1 or 2 better players can’t do enough before their teammates, who are worse than their counterparts, mess up and die.
Maybe still correct, but who knows at this point since only the devs can see behind the curtain. One thing I can say is that I couldn’t play competitive Mystery Heroes in Season 3 with friends because my MMR/rank was considered too high. I had, and still have, no competitive MH history, so I don’t know what rank it thought I was, but I had just hit Top 500 in CTF in Season 2. So it seems there may be some MMR data sharing with some modes.
Sounds like developer cope. It’s all just random. Silvers and masters get put in the same matches in QP. There’s no way any silver player has the MMR of any master player.
