Every time I’ve queued for a game of OW I always pick support now. I love playing support and am very good at it, but the moment I want to have a little fun and play dps or tank then all of a sudden my healers are complete and absolute garbage and nobody can enjoy the game. It’s soo frustrating seeing as nobody can play their role correctly when I play a role other than support.
I was on the fence about 2-2-2 being enforced and waited to see how it affected me or my gameplay, and boy has it changed me. Now I don’t even think about queuing for dps, as every game I’ve had has been the worst experience ever with the tanks and supports I get. I’ve definitely been playing support more and have been drawn away from the game overall since the release of RQ (as much as I hate to say it, I love overwatch with a passion). It sucks for flex players as I can’t switch off dps to healer if one of my supports is doing horrendous, as I’ve always done. The only way I actually have fun in RQ is to play with my friends as they can play their roles correctly and aren’t garbage.
I guess this is a rant, I’m just really frustrated with how my matchmaking has been after implementing RQ, it needs major fixing and improvements.

A lot of people are playing the roles just to get a game. There are a lot out there that have never touched support or tanks until RQ.
This is the state of the game now. RQ into what is fastest, just to get a game, doesn’t matter if you know the role or not. Oh and people chase the rewards.

Which is annoying. Has there been any rewards for playing dps? Cause I don’t think I’ve seen any.
Having rewards for the two most important roles in the game only makes it worse for people wanting to have fun on dps, as you aren’t going to get competent enough teammates that know how to play their roles.

It might be different play-styles, I’ve noticed that i tend to play support quite aggressively and whenever I’m not playing support, i notice friendly support playing extra passively and not doing something I would’ve done.
I’ve seen them at late, around 4am hah.

This is kinda the point of why RQ is bad, as nobody plays the role that they’re used to just to get into a game. (No offense)
This all happened in WoW as well ( I believe jeff was part of that construct too). Support/tanks got rewards while dps got long wait times.
This is not going to end and matches will always be a crapshow for most people.
I only play on tank mostly, maybe 1-2 matches I will RQ for support/dps in a given day or more.
I didn’t buy the game for this style of play, if I wanted it, I would still be playing WoW. I got this game as I had a choice of whatever I wanted to play and be able to swap with people from other roles.
I was not asked if I wanted it nor given an option to get a refund as the game has veered away from what was advertised. But blizz in there legal crap, can at will, whenever, change or amend anything they like and still own the rights to the game, without giving people the option to opt out of it.

they wouldnt do a mmr reset so the inevitable mmr adjustment will be slow and painful.
2-2-2 has nothing to do with people being trash at a role.
If you’re playing in the gold - diamond range, chances are you will run into a lot of people that apparently have no idea wtf they are doing in their role.
I’ve been playing mostly tank since 2-2-2. I appreciate tf out of the times I actually get a support that knows how to play the role. Typically tho, they’re just derping off in Africa completely useless. Just how it goes.
A lot of reasons for this. First you have the meme of “support and tank is easy” that no aim, no brain is a thing and tons of people pick up a healer thinking it’s an easy win. Except it’s not, they die all the time, heal the wrong people or go Rambo and try to DPS as a healer.
Then you have Role que which in general pushed a lot of people who would never touch support or tank, into those roles for faster que times, free credits/loot boxes, and so on. So again they have zero investment into the match.
But a big thing is also separate SR. You can “soft” throw to your hearts content by picking bad hero’s and playing with little to no effort because it won’t affect your main role SR. Honestly Blizzard effectively gave every one 2 free smurf accounts.
A lot of people only care about their DPS rank and if they play tank or support they really don’t put half the effort in because a loss doesn’t really mean anything.
It kinda does, it enforces people to play tank and support more with rewards, even if said player is bad at that role(I mean it’s good if they are actually trying to learn the role). Which results in that one healer that just derps off.
If you want to get better people on your team, I would suggest climbing out of gold lmao. Should be easy for you because you are a top tier support, apparently.
A sym main who misses her tbagging brig moira friend, huh?

That’s not really a “role que is bad” reason.
That is more a bad player base thing.
Awww someone who likes to bring up someone’s rank as the only excuse they can pull out of where the sun don’t shine. I don’t give two sh*ts about rank so try again. Haven’t played comp other than placements because it’s not fun, not to mention the 15 placement matches in most of which you are going to lose. I’m not stupid enough to actually go into comp solo.
Rank has nothing to determine in how good I am as a support, I play QP majority of the time and only do my placements in comp just to get comp points.
You people are honestly soo annoying. Apparently it’s hard for you to see that there’s other game modes besides comp, and rank doesn’t determine how good a player is. I’m done with you lmao bye.
Option 1: We apply a reset and YES we suffer for some months
Option 2: We don’t and we suffer for YEARS
Is clear. Sometimes is better a little sacrifice in order to get a better future. A lot of players stills paying for their mistakes on the season 1-2 and a lot of players are enjoying the benefits of get luck on the season 1-2.

RQ has seemingly enhanced the number of bad players on tank/support though. Would you rather be able to have somebody switch off of a role that they’re bad at then swap yourself and possibly change the outcome of the match or have them not be able to switch off a role that you could’ve excelled in and watch as your team is surely set up to lose?
2-2-2 isn’t the problem.
Handing out SR to people in roles they never played is.
SR needs to be earned in the off roles, but Blizzard knows better. ( as their player base leaves for better games.)

QP has its own matchmaking as well. You’re just blind to your own shortcomings and would rather blame the people that the game thinks are literally the exact same skill level as you. Improve yourself and the game will give you better teammates. It’s as easy as that.
