I have over 1000 hours in overwatch and 1-3-2 has been the most fun I've had in OW in years

Now I understand that many people will feel differently to me but here are my first impressions:

  • The queues feel faster (on all roles, except for tank).
  • The games are faster, meaning you no longer get stuck in a game you know you’re going to lose.
  • Balanced games tend to swing making you always feel engaged.
  • It feels like you have more impact, with higher lethality you get rewarded for playing smart and not dying.

I’ve played all three roles (mostly support but also some DPS and tank games) and honestly, I found both support and tank games incredibly fun compared to before.

As I said in the title I have over 1000 hours in overwatch and this is the most fun I’ve had in years, I feel reminded of why I fell in love with the game all that time ago (I first started playing around the time of s2 of competitive) and it deeply saddens me that 1-3-2 probably won’t stick around.

I’m loving it too.
Of course some tanks still need some massive work done.

I’m still on the opinion that if that wanted to change it to fit 3 dps that making it 2 tanks, 3 dps, 1 support may have worked out better, with simular changes to make the supports still viable, but I am having fun with the tanks.

Sadly I don’t think this will make it to live since some of the tanks are awkwardly tuned for this patch.

They are pretty similar in my experience. Tank is definitely nowhere near as bad as damage was before. I’m loving it.

Unfortunately, I disagree. I’ve had a lot of high quality and long lasting games today! Very close!

So much this! The game just feels so much more engaging. The off tank changes are really interesting aswell. Zarya in particular introduces an entirely new way of performing your job as tank. You still output damage, and you can protect people from being dived!

No that would of never worked. As soon as your support dies there’s absolutely nothing you can do except die (kinda like with 1 tank  )

Tanks feel miserable to play, it feels like you’re a CC sponge.

Damage is coming from everywhere and there’s nothing you can do about it

Well yeah, it’s more fun in a trashy zero meta and set tactics sort of way, being it’s new. It’s NOT better Overwatch.

it’s just the normal herpy derpy QP DM play with a “bit” of OW tactics that allows a lower SR player to mask they don’t really know or understand that game that well. That’s the ENTIRE charm of QP in the first place and 1-3-2 kicks it up a level

but put this in more try hard mode with SR correct players and it’s going to VERY quickly become the same basic this play and this tactic but 100% replace the front line rumble with snipers one shot’ing almost everyone on the team and every “play” being hack or EMP on the solo tank.

it’s fun being it’s new and I’m really happy they added this card system in but it’s not good Overwatch or good team objective game play.

I’ve won plenty of team fights after the support has died, because I dont just give up. Keep your support alive.

I cannot tell you you are wrong here, because your opinion is just as valid as mine. I’m sorry you’re not having fun with it, but I’m having a blast with the tanks rn.

Some tanks need tweaking most definitely, but the new d.va and zarya seem very interesting and fulfill their role as tank in a new way. I found D.va’s matrix really interesting, it can eat a whole Pharah ult, and still have an extra second of charge.

New zarya has to be the most boring hero ever.
You all have to stick together for her allied bubble to be any use. Before you could make some sick plays with allied bubble, if you don’t use it while bunched up it’s useless now. Her damage is tickle and grav takes a million years to charge.
I have 200 hours on zarya, I don’t regret playing one moment of it. This is the first time I haven’t had fun on her. I’m actually so sad now. those 200 hours basically wasted.

Off to play minecraft until the experimental 123 is removed so people play QP again.

I also have well over 1000 hours in Overwatch, and I feel like it feels like less-fun Quick Play. It’s not balanced, some heros conceptually can’t be balanced with a total rework of their very base role to even remotely fit here.

From what I’ve seen, the people who really seem into 1-3-2 are Mercy players, because the gameplay feels wildly different for them in a positive, engaging way. For every other support it feels just awful. 2-2-2 is a lot of fun as it it imo, if they keep an eye on balance.

Luckily, Jeff said that this mode is just here for the week to let us see under the hood of something they had tried to get working, since so many people were asking for it. I don’t think it will ever work for OW, but it was fun to try for a couple of games.

That’s not true. You can still spot bubble people and it lasts for 3s now.

I agree the damage is less fun than before, you can still melt people really quickly at high charge. I like picking Zarya into D.va so you can pretty much always be charging grav on her. Theres already a tank counter meta forming.

It’s been a wild ride for me, but I must admit I’ve played everything but support. I’ve noticed Ana being dead really often. Genji is seeing a resurgence since there is less need to be right next to your tank.

That’s unfortunate. Hopefully it returns with more balance changes that can make it a format that everyone can enjoy.

It’s actually a lot of fun beating the Supports in Healing as Roadhog.
That healing field is so lovely, I hope it makes it to Live. Same with Zarya’s Chain Bubbles.

Well I personally disagree completely, as 3/2/1 is absolutely terrible from every aspect if you’re playing Tank and just a tad bit better if you’re playing Support…

Hope this change doesn’t go through and it thankfully won’t, as long as devs act logically and realize that it’s not worth it ruining the experience of so many Tank and even Support players (as if they already weren’t in a bad enough state already) and sacrificing the arguably great overall state Overwatch has been at for the past weeks for the sake of catering to the same old DPS players, due to the behaviors of many of which, systems such as role - lock had to be implemented in the first place so many months ago…
