Every game, Quickplay, Arcade, Competitive. Smurfs everywhere. They’re leveling up accounts in QP and arcade to quickly get into competitive and ruining games by making them completely one sided.
In competitive, they’re in every game. They’re so obviously smurfing but then you call them out "WhO’s A sMuRf xD"And everyone’s like, they’ll get to where they belong eventually, and sure, THAT smurf might but there’s a thousand more right behind him, making a new account to smurf in low ranks. I can’t get away from them. They ruin what should be a casual experience and devalue a competitive atmosphere.
Why should I even buy or play the Overwatch expansion pack when the exact same issues will exist there too? No new hero, no new map, no new game mode is going to change this. These players are bored at their higher ranks and come to my rank and ruin my games. Ban them, make it inconvenient for them to smurf. There’s no game quite like Overwatch and it sucks that it’s being ruined by these egotistical smurfs.
Yeah its a real problem, and what I don’t understand is that it’s snowballing. Like, why do you need 10 alts? There are people now with literally over a dozen to two dozen alts…
Yeah had this very thing last night with three during a QP match who tried this line, claiming to have “just bought the game”
The “cure” for this is a mixed blessing: the PVP component, at least QP, will go F2P probably the same time OW 2 is released since you pay for PVE content, not PVP… this means for a time a flood of new players… and of course, endless alts… but, it does mean the current stacking of tier skill going on is going be less felt.
Honestly, the cure for all this nonsense is to invoke MMR/SR decay. No one will put in the effort except for someone with literally no life to try to constantly maintain their MMR/SR across more than a few accounts if the MMR/SR decay rate is fast enough. Then they would be forced to concentrate on one to three accounts.
I get the occasional “low-level widowmaker” but I just decide to outplay them. This might have something to do with my pension to playing Dva and Soldier but I just become the bane of their existence.
The only reason to buy OW2 is for the PVE so… if you don’t want to buy a PVE game over a PVP problem then - that’s up to you. Support whatever you want however you want; you’re free to not buy it if that makes you feel better.
Yeah I mean “Blizzard” made this about as fair as you possibly can: free PVP changes including old skins, etc., while allowing buyers who want to get the PVE game.
I am assuming that players who don’t buy the PVE expansion “OW 2” will not get the new character skins, a fine point I haven’t seen too many people touch on.
I also wish Blizzard will find a way, in OW2, to get rid of baby ragers who leave games the moment they die once, who leave games because they do not like the hero their team picks, people who throw just because they want to

That’s a valid point. We don’t really know if Blizzard are going to attach any specific skins to the purchase of OW2 as a product or not at this point, though.
In the end it would all be cosmetic. It’s much easier to ignore extra cosmetics when each hero has a ton of different skin options… now If they lock the new hero skins behind the OW2 campaign that might get people a bit angry.
I see them touting the new looks as part of the draw for OW 2 purchases… you don’t want to look old and stale right? That is an immense draw for some people…
I have a question. Do you think that every smurf is GM or master? Alot of people who makes smurf posts act like they are top tier. A Diamond cant carry any game above 2300 and most smurfs are just alts from plat and gold players. Please next time you have a smurf look at their impact in game instead of just calling out low level players.
You play for fun, and that is your main problem with smurfs eventually. Play for win and for improvement, you will hit GM, then you will go back to your plat-land and laugh on these smurfs. As long as you don’t like smurfs - your mental is casual, not competitive. Like the smurf, be the smurf, be the better smurf, own them, force mercy to pocket you, because she’d love free sr that you provide, daddy.
