I guess I’m a very lucky person then
I think you have deluded yourself. There is a reason the higher in SR you go the less junkrat is played, to the point junkrat mains get avoided by everyone.
END THEY SAY END THEY SAY END THEY SAY
It’s because his best counters in hitscans become more powerful as the rank increases. It also has nothing to do with whether or not it’s possible to become more consistent with Junks primary.
Regardless Junk is situationally good in high ranks. Forcing him on certain maps/against certain comps is when it gets a bit difficult.
Junkrat does a lot of damage per hit, if his primary was consistent he would be played more in the higher ranks.
But he is not, because he has to depend too much on luck.
Becoming more consistent at his primary doesn’t mean becoming more consistent than other damage dealers primaries.
But that was my entire point, there are more consistent dps, at everything, EXCEPT the situations where you can lob and depend on luck. That is the one thing junkrat has going for himself, he can depend on luck.
Which is where we’re disagreeing. Will there always be a degree of luck? Sure. Can you become more consistent at it through improving? Yes, which takes a good deal of luck out of it, improves consistency and is part of why some Junks are better than others.
And still not good enough to not be immediately put on everybody’s avoid list.
Sounds like a personal problem
Sounds like a junkrat problem.
I watch minimal OW streaming, and even that small amount I noticed a distinct reaction to junkrat mains, which is to immediately put them on avoid. Not even bastion and sym get that treatment.
It’s probably different in top 500. It’s been a long time since I got an avoid warning and that was because I was on a losing streak so it was more to do with playing badly than my hero choice.
The fact that you got the warning at all should be a telling sign.
I play off-meta heroes almost exclusively, and I havent been given that warning.
Based on going on an over 400 sr losing streak it’s not surprising. I was playing like trash.
So do I. I have a Junk one trick account and my other highly played account is one that I flex on mostly off meta heroes. My only avoid warning within the last couple of years has been on that losing streak. It was performance based and I’d have probably avoided myself
The fact that bastion and sym are more tolerated than junkrat is a massive telling that they at least provide an advantage that can be taken advantage of, while junkrat is just inferior at even his own niche in comparison to a lot of other heroes.
They absolutely aren’t. Sym is tolerated on Lijiang and Bastion just straight up isn’t tolerated at all. Junk doesn’t even have a low pickrate in high ranks, he’s played a decent amount.
And yet those junkrat players are immediately avoided.
Yet I didn’t get a warning outside of 1 time, when I deserved it for playing like trash and dropping an entire rank.
I love playing junk on havana
