That’s what I’ve been doing too but how do I know they’ll see it as inappropriate as well. I don’t, so that’s why I just won’t flag anymore.

Are you banned? There is code of conduct so just follow that. I think you will be fine

Yeah I’ve seen the CoC but it’s not very clear on what exactly counts as trolling/harassment and what doesn’t. Those are the 2 reasons why I would flag a post, but I’m not gonna risk it anymore.

Everyone here is posting about how they got banned for small words and all. But you all are forgetting one thing. There is a report topic called “Spam” That is meant to be used for things that are off topic, advertisement or vandalism. If you respond to a discussion with “Try again” in real life, you won’t get anywere. If you respond with “Use facts” you won’t get anywhere.

I get that this isn’t real life, but a discussion isn’t one sided, If you are only gonna respond with a few word responses that are trollish or off topic, you shouldn’t even comment on the post.

Generally, if a “reasonable person” would find it offensive and flag it, i think it’s safe to flag it. I’ve been, and I’m still here. :man_shrugging:

I’ve actually flagged 3 replies yesterday because they actually broke CoC and ToS.

Yes, there are people abusing it but there is also a huge toxicity problem among the forums still, and I feel like I shouldn’t report now since it’s just cluttering the moderators.

I have been told to “screw off,” that I’m a filthy Pharah main, and some slurs. Overall I have thick skin, but there’s no point in trying to help reduce toxicity when whose job it is to overview the toxicity cannot handle it.

Same, I actually got a 5 day ban a week ago because someone reported me for trolling, when I have tried to be very constructive with my posts.

When people started abusing flagging I knew a mile off it would end in tears for those misusing the flagging system. It was never going to be allowed to be used that way and I don’t know why people thought Blizzard would tolerate it.

Based on the moderator response about inappropriate flagging, which supposedly the one time I did flag a post it was unflagged (flagged a post stating that the user hoped sym/torb never become viable purely because said user didn’t like playing against them as trolling (post was both inflammatory and presumably upsetting to the mains of said heroes, I dunno on that last one, you’d have to find a torb/sym main and ask them how they felt)) I guess that’s probably it for me being on the forums. It’s not like I was a permanent fixture on here or anything, or even on the old one, but I did like to post now and again when I was bored and saw topics relevant to my interests. If we can’t downvote posts to remove them, and we can’t flag them to remove them, then what’s the sense of being on here?

I very tightly control what I allow on my facebook feed, up to the point of having an addon (facebook purity, for those who might be curious) to remove any and all types of posts that I don’t care to see… (suggested posts which are basically ads for the most part, but also annoying stuff, Rick Lax, Lance210 pranks, etc) If blizzard can’t manage to make such functionality a built in feature of their new forums, then I’ve got no reason to be here, as there simply isn’t time or patience in the world to sort through the amount of idiots that regularly post here to find the things I find interesting.

I expect to see that guy back any day now looking for his loli D.Va costume. Since there’s no downvote, and no reporting allowed (what he used to do was technically well within the bounds of the tos so far as I know), then he should fit right in, and I’m sure everyone will enjoy what he has to say. :slight_smile:

When you flag a post you should get a window:

“Flagging is only for posts that are explicite violations of the forums TOS policy. The post you flagged will be reviewed. During this review period, you will be limited to 5 posts on the forum per day. Any further flags out for review will lower this count by 1. Once you’ve flagged 6 posts, you will no longer be able to post until at least one has been reviewed. If the post you flagged is found to be in violation of the forum TOS, your full posting privalidges will be reinstated. If it is found to not be a violation of the forum’s TOS, you will recieve a suspension from the forums for false flagging. Are you sure you wish to flag this post?” Yes/No

I got banned for arguing with people who were complaining about Sombra being OP.
Any comment I made was flagged as trolling because they didn’t want to hear any other opinion other than their own. So all In all this is a good feature.

Edit: My post which was on top with 100+ replies with a sombra discussion going on was also deleted due to “Multiple Flags”

thank god the devs made a post on this cuz flaggging just because you disagree is dumb and having a opinion that people dislike isn’t banned or breaking the rules
